Here's how I end my listings every month and create new listings from them to increase sales. eBay stated at one of their events a couple years ago that this helps.

You don't want those deleted item piling up. You might accidentally relist them all again. Once you are done with the sell similar, delete. Hope this helps!

I was given to understand, that if you didn't make some alteration to the listing, a 'sell similar' would not be recognized as a new listing and would therefore retain the original id number, which is not what you want to happen. The object of the exercise is to fool the algorithm into thinking it's a brand new listing. Otherwise, there appears to be no advantage in doing it.

When we end and sell similar, our listing gets a new item ID from eBay. It's a brand new listing, not a relist of an unsold listing.

That was very helpful. I have been doing them one at a time on my phones app. Not very fast. By the way- eBay app has a way to search items through taking a pic like Google lenses. Saves some steps, and it’s pretty accurate.

No, you will still be charged the monthly rollover fee but it's a new listing and get's new eyes on it instead of being a relisted item. You just end it before it rolls over and you won't be charged double.

I do one extra step before I delete the old listings and click my active to verify the number went back up to what I had before, just in case the internet did something weird so I don't lose all those listings and have to start over from scratch. It may be a little paranoid but it gives me peace of mind before I delete them forever.

Question- what is the best response when ending a single listing? eBay offers four different options and I am not sure which option is best - 1. Price is wrong 2. Item was lost 3. Item is no longer available 4. Listing contained error Thanks for the video. Very helpful info.

Watchers tend to not be buyers. A new listing gets new eyes on it. If a watcher is really interested, they'll find it again and maybe be inclined to actually purchase it.

If an item has been listed on eBay for a while and hasn't sold, then the eBay algorithm sees it as a less desirable item and will rank it lower in the listings because it sees other items as more likely to be purchased by the buyer. Doing the end and sell similar recreates the item as a new listing in the algorithm. Somebody asked eBay about this at one of their events a couple years ago and eBay confirmed that it helped.

It does but over time those older listings might get buried under newer listings or eBay might drop them. This way, my item is always a fresh new listing.

I made some error. They didn't go through as o thought, now figuring out how to fix. Lol I copied listings and then they're were doubled. I viewed by listing title to determine which to delete and which to relist. Ugh. I watched again maybe I didn't delete from unsold? Idk

I hope you were able to get your listings fixed. Yes, it is very important to delete the unsolds before you leave that screen. When doing sell similar, when you click done - then you delete before you do anything else. Google ISDN duplicate listing scanner. It's a remarkable tool that scans your eBay account and locates any duplicate listings.

When you complete the sell similar the LP icon doesn’t show it was copied over to LP…so how do you keep that straight and know you aren’t duplicating by copying the same listing to LP? I generally know if I’ve copied it to LP by the icon saying copied on eBay?

I don't use the List Perfectly catalog. There would be no way I could end and sell similar 300 to 500 listings every day and keep them synced. We track which platforms an item is cross listed to with a code in the custom sku field on eBay.

When doing this how are you keeping track of what has been cross-listed?

We use the custom label (sku) field on eBay to help manage our inventory. An example custom label for us would be 2310 14665 011B P M That tells us that the item was listed in Oct 2023 (2310). Our inventory number for it is 14665. which makes it easier to know we're shipping the correct blue lovey when there are 20 in the storage basket. We just started adding the date and inventory number this year. We've updated all listings to have the date listed and we've been working over this year to add our inventory number to each item as we do an inventory check. 011B tells us that it's on shelving unit 01, shelf 1, and in basket B. The P and M tell us it's also listed on Poshmark and Mercari.

I only delete and do sell similar on the items that are going to end that day. Don't try to do this more than once per month on each item unless you have lots of available listings left.

On your listing screen, at the bottom of the page in fine print, eBay says they may send you offers from buyers. That's there even if you have offers turned off.
