I had a heart attack a few years ago about the time when this tune was first coming out. A young doctor laid the second stint, and had the radio on in the operating room. Of all songs that could have played it was this one (no joke for real.) Yeh, I got up off the ground, and so this tune has some real special meaning to me.

Had similar going on three years ago now (just one stint) - no soundtrack in the OR but was awake and watched everything in real time on a 42" hd tv --- up until your comment, I had only listened to this song (100s of times) with political blinders on thinking it was a great analogy for our country getting up off the ground after all this BS around every election ...but to think about this song in those personal terms having been through something similar is kind of eye-opening for me ... thanks for sharing.

When you hear a song for the first time, you sometimes just groove to the beat or enjoy the composition. Then, you come back later and really listen to the lyrics. Today is the day the lyrics hit me hard...stages of life sometimes draw you to songs that you first didn't understand, but later speak truth.

Weird, I heard it on 95.1 Chicago for the first time tonight........needless to say, I'm hooked!
@santinocorleone12048 жыл бұрын
I'm talking about back in the '70's and early 80's when 'Xrt was the only station in Chicago that wasn't "mainstream" Some stations followed their lead over the years. 'Xrt was one of a handful of stations in the country that wasn't driven by sponsors to play what THEY wanted to be aired. "Xrt devoted much of its airplay to local bands, and today what's called "Indie". Even later into the '80's and early '90's, local Chicago bands such as, Liz Phair, Smashing Pumpkins, Urg Overkill, Material Issue, to name a few, were given a chance to be heard by the inimitable staff of DJ's at 'Xrt
