This is the series titled Releasables where I attempt to play every releasable nation in EU4 or Europa Universalis 4. In this video I play as the nation of Akamatsu in EU4. Fun fact: The reason that Akamatsu doesn't exist in 1444 is that they were punished for assassinating the previous shogun of ashikaga, by having all their holding stripped. Later in the sengoku era when Yamana stood against the shogun, Akamatsu was released to stop Yamana. Both of them was annexed by Oda Nobunaga later.

@@gabrielclark1425 Yes, Yamana Sozen (Yamana's 1444 ruler) absorbed all of the Akamatsu land by being the first to crush their rebellion, it was the perfect chance for power grabbing lol.

This use of the console I'm much more ok with than placing the nation in a totally different spot. Doesn't actually change the goals or the game, just makes it less painful, but still painful in the fun ways

Personally I get bogged down/bored more in the mid game than in the early game and would be excited to see you showcase the age of absolutism and after a little bit more

Actually made a joke about akamatsu ideas before, but its more 'imperial japan warcrime denier' as I know someone whos descendant of the Akamatsu clan on discord whose quite open about his opinions on that Edit: other joke i make on them is '10% discipline' as that guy thought that giving akamatsu 10% discipline in ni's was balanced

If you become independent from Japan and then feed Kyoto to a vassal that is not a daimyo, you won’t become a shogunate when you annex the vassal and can keep the morale and ica from being a daimyo. Still isn’t patched as far as I know.

There is other way, play as ashikaga, and wait until your regency end, attakc them, annex and realease then. You can even play them on ironman. Yes, it takes almost 8 years, so you waste some time and it's also bit harder to unite japan, but it is possible

lmao that's a tradtional Japanese symbol called the mitsudomoe, and this symbol is also used by other tags in eu4 besides Akamatsu (Utsunomiya and Ryukyu come to mind)
