The #SubaruOutbackWilderness takes Subaru's capable station wagon to the next level for 2022. The #OutbackWilderness gives buyers the factory lift kit they were doing in the aftermarket already. With skid plates, 9.5" of ground clearance, retuned suspension, meaty all-terrain tires, and a standard 2.4L turbo engine with improved acceleration, the #SubaruWilderness badge promises to be the pinnacle of off-road performance from #Subaru. We drive it through a creek, into the woods, and down some steep hills to see just how capable this new #SubaruOutback is. It goes on sale later this summer at a price of $36,995.

Happy Monday guys! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Last week, we drove about 3 hours north to NY, where Subaru allowed us to experience the new Turbo Outback Wilderness. We were actually very impressed with how it performed both on and off the road. This is also our first video to feature our 0-60 RaceBox acceleration timing equipment and we clocked a 0-60 sprint of 5.8 seconds with the new Wilderness and Subaru had us drive it through a stream that you'd never expect a Subaru to drive through. The new Outback Wilderness goes on sale next month!

You could tell the outback was going over some really big rocks under the water and handled it very well.

Okay 99.98% of drivers in the US would never use the off road features this has. I can tell you in Colorado the Outback I think is given out when you get your license!! It IS EVERWHERE!!! Because you can get 15+inches of snow, you can also go into some insane off road trails here in sunny CO(Black Bear Pass)! But even then the outback can do most of what jeeps can. To get under armor, lift, better tires, better low end performance! This is what I and MANY Outback owners want!! TY Subaru! Not often does an automobile company make a better version of their #1 seller!!

As a Subaru fanboy, I am disappointed that they didn't include the HK sound system on this model; Especially if the Moonroof, Navi, and RAB are part of a package. From what I understand a forester wilderness is in the works. Haven't been able to find out if the crosstrek or the forester wilderness is the next planned release. I went from a 2014 outback the to the 2020 forester sport and honestly find the forester to be a bit better with the approach and departure. That and the height the driver sets at makes a huge difference for me. If I would have heard about them planning the wilderness addition before I got the forester sport, I probably would have held onto my 2014 a while longer lol

Great vehicle. Great review. Thumbs up! Would be nice if it had cooling and memory seats like the Touring, especially the cooling, but my main problem is that it has no wireless charging. You said something that sounded like there might be an after market option to add that so I need to find out about that. I personally do not like the dual tone colors on any vehicles, though your point about that front hood dual tone helping with sun reflection does sound good; but I would likely get the all black exterior in part to mask that dual tone. I wonder if the AWD is a fixed 50/50 front/rear, or if like some others there is a bias to front or rear, like a 40/60 front/rear, fixed or otherwise.

Just found your channel, subscribed, and liked many videos. I'd like a recommendation please of a couple of vehicles to look at, model later than 2021. I will be traveling thru the US (much paved) but going onto forest service roads for disbursed car camping and hiking. So I need a car more ready for a road than I would willingly want to drive on, just in case. No crossing big rivers or rock crawling! Need good room in back for sleeping in the car; a solo drive but a daily drive car when not traveling. Would prefer good mileage since I could do 2000/mo easily. Ideas?? THANK YOU!!

I'm interested in this vehicle. If it came in matte olive green with black badging, I'm in. Good job on the review as always 👏

I wish you had some external cameras as well - during the river, hill ascent / descent.

Im glad they put a cooler for the trans. TFL reported the cvt overheating on trails. Im legitimately impressed with this car.

This would be a nice vehicle to take to my family ranch. There is a 1 mile clay/dirt road with sections of gravel and extremely uneven with a couple of areas that hold water when it rains, I have no doubt this vehicle could go through it easily. Very nice

People will buy these. I was shocked to find out how many people take these off road so I’m sure those folks will be even happier
