Happy Monday guys! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Last week, we drove about 3 hours north to NY, where Subaru allowed us to experience the new Turbo Outback Wilderness. We were actually very impressed with how it performed both on and off the road. This is also our first video to feature our 0-60 RaceBox acceleration timing equipment and we clocked a 0-60 sprint of 5.8 seconds with the new Wilderness and Subaru had us drive it through a stream that you'd never expect a Subaru to drive through. The new Outback Wilderness goes on sale next month!

@@AncientCreature-i2o You only need the air intake above the water. As long as you're getting air and not sucking water in to the turbo this thing will run. And lol at "Carburetor". There hasn't been a mass produced car with a carburetor in 40 years. The real test of the river was the rocky bottom. You could tell the outback was going over some really big rocks under the water and handled it very well.

Okay 99.98% of drivers in the US would never use the off road features this has. I can tell you in Colorado the Outback I think is given out when you get your license!! It IS EVERWHERE!!! Because you can get 15+inches of snow, you can also go into some insane off road trails here in sunny CO(Black Bear Pass)! But even then the outback can do most of what jeeps can. To get under armor, lift, better tires, better low end performance! This is what I and MANY Outback owners want!! TY Subaru! Not often does an automobile company make a better version of their #1 seller!!

As a Subaru fanboy, I am disappointed that they didn't include the HK sound system on this model; Especially if the Moonroof, Navi, and RAB are part of a package. From what I understand a forester wilderness is in the works. Haven't been able to find out if the crosstrek or the forester wilderness is the next planned release. I went from a 2014 outback the to the 2020 forester sport and honestly find the forester to be a bit better with the approach and departure. That and the height the driver sets at makes a huge difference for me. If I would have heard about them planning the wilderness addition before I got the forester sport, I probably would have held onto my 2014 a while longer lol

Thank you for saying it is a wagon, it is not an SUV and I know it is just a classification but It is a wagon through and through which some prefer over "SUV"s But then I am a minivan person over SUVs and only changed when an idiot took out our Odyssey head on. Better to have the capability and not need it than to need it and not have it. I was torn between the Oynx and the Wilderness, This helped me decide, great review. Thanks

Are the Wilderness only blue though?? It's the only color they would even show on their website and I'm hoping they don't limit color choices on this trim

@@jessebrinker3706 haha yep, maybe we both just watched the same video. I would still rather love to see this in a nice silver to blend in some of that awkward black cladding.

@@adamwright9741 The blue on the car in this vid is exclusive to the Wilderness trim, but it's also available in all other colors (Abyss Blue, Autumn Green, Ice Silver, etc.).

I saw a bank of fine sand (used for bunkers) coming out of a golf course's parking lot and just went over it with the right side of my '19 Forester. That was the most off-roading I've done this year so far. I'll go camping a few times this summer so it'll be exposed to little more soft-roading.

Wish Subaru made the interior with a minimalist rough and rugged feel. The piano black and what not does not feel rugged.

If there's any time to confidently roll thru a creek a foot of water it would be when Subaru folks are there telling you to.
