I waited 8 months for delivery in Canada. It was worth the wait. It is a great car with great features and a very smooth ride for an EV. (also have a 2013 Leaf)

6:20 god DAMN i cant wait until battery tech catches up and we can have proper EV sportscars and musclecars. this stupid tree and leaf stuff pisses me off. also, am i the only one that appreciates both good electric cars (tesla) and good gasoline cars equally rather than rabidly defending one or the other?
@misternazih9 жыл бұрын
Ryukachoo tbh the tesla is the only EV that is fun to drive, and it has the most range.
@Ryukachoo9 жыл бұрын
***** bah, you just haven't driven a fun one yet. there's something indescribably fun about good cars, be it super powerful loud muscle cars or light and lean hard-turning sports cars. i'm ok with the EV future but i'll lament the passing of ICE either way

Hmm, seems better than I thought, but I don't think, apart from those who stay within a small area, these cars won't become viable until quick charge comes in.

They should put that electric motor in the new Miata. Cant believe the miata has so little horsepower and runs on petrol. Might as well put this electric motor in it. similar horsepower. Miata is already super light so battery wouldn't be all that bad on performance hopefully.

100 miles. Most folks can get to work in 20 or less, in fact the vast majority commute 15 miles or less. Plug it in every two over night at home. Problem Solved. Or, hook it up to a local 80% Quick Charge for 20 minutes.
@Jtob4106 жыл бұрын
djkenny what do you do if you want to travel out of your state or city?
@djkenny12026 жыл бұрын
Rent a car. I doubt I do that note than 2-3 times in a 6 month period. Or, just look up charging stations. You could also have a 2nd car in the household. These go 100 miles, unless you are on a 400 mile trip or something, that’s plenty. I know folks that travel 2.75 hrs to the coast and just get 1 charge. But in general for most of us we’d do fine.
@djkenny12026 жыл бұрын
You rent. Or, if you have two cars in the house hold, the other isn’t EV.
@coopergold13956 жыл бұрын
djkenny most of the time (not all the time) out of state means 200 miles and up.
@djkenny12026 жыл бұрын
To get somewhere it’s 200 miles? That doesn’t sound sustainable? Commuting 200 miles in a single day? I know there’s occasions where people have to go really long distances to afford homes and live outside work, but that’s a fairly small sum of folks. Most are 20 miles or less each way. =40 total. Still leaving about 50+ the next day, not plugging in over night. But again, they could plug in when arriving home making it for sure a non issue.

Got a chance to drive my friend's Leaf, it was pretty fun surprisingly. I'd probably have a Soul myself, there's no legroom in the Leaf man and it does look pretty ugly. I'd swap the wheels on this probably.

Lease only. This will be worth under 10K when the Bolt, Model 3, and 2017 Leaf shows up.
@oilerlord65139 жыл бұрын
+Ivan Vojt I'm counting on it. In keeping with 2-3 year old Nissan Leaf depreciation that's around 50%, 2015 lease-returned Soul EV's will be available for $15,000 and less in 2017. I can wait a year to save ~$15,000 or more on a low mileage used one. For me, this is the best overall EV package (other than a Tesla) that the masses can afford.
@BTC9099 жыл бұрын
+oilerlord I was pondering the same thing. I know to avoid the 2011, 2012 Leaf's due to the battery change in 2013. A Model S or X is way out of my price range and I would never pay that amount of money for transportation anyways.
