After a 21 year hiatus, the #ToyotaSupra is FINALLY back and with some help from BMW, #Toyota looks to create the most track focused #Supra ever. At the heart of this new #GRSupra is a BMW sourced 3.0L straight 6-cylinder turbocharged engine known internally as the #B58B30M1. It produces 335 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque driving the rear wheels through a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission. A perfect 50/50 weight balance along with a sub-3,400 pound curb weight tells us that Toyota [and BMW] had the Porsche 718 Cayman in their sights. At a starting price of just under $50,000, this all-new #A90Supra looks to be the sports car bargain of 2019 when it goes on sale in late July.

Hey everyone! We were so excited to film this one and spent some extra time with the production so we hope you enjoy it! A couple of quick corrections, we found out after filming that you can adjust the bolster on the seats to squeeze your sides a bit more during track driving. That should address our complaint about sliding around in the seats. Also, some of the fake vents we were complaining about, the lead engineer for the Supra says you can easily change those vents out to make them functional. Other than that, we were very impressed with this new Supra and think you all will once the public starts driving them. Let us know what you think below!

@@DailyDoseofLucy1 Toyota has revised every part of the engine and stress tested the engine to meet their reliability standards and ended up succeeding, and that considering the troublesome reliability in typical BMWs, and adding the coding and programming and such, will make it feel un-BMW-like hence customising the base itself. Toyota clearly knew what they were doing, and there's reasons why they took all the time they needed in developing the new Supra. It just shows that it is a Toyota and has a pure Toyota soul.

Sam Aboff We have owned 6 BMWs in the past 25 or so yrs and reliability is definitely a concern as Toyota is one of the most reliable makes available today. I predict the new Supra will have the typical 3yr/36,000 mile warranty, but am hoping Toyota will at the least offer a 4yr/48-50k bumper to bumper warranty as new BMWs. I wonder if Toyota will also offer the free 4yr maintenance as did our last few new BMWs. That would make it easier for me to plunk down 55K for a Toyota engineered by bmw and built by magna steyr In austria.

I would not go as far as to say I "hate" this car, but I just cannot trust German cars after five years. They are fine if you buy or lease them new and keep them for several years, but after that, they become mechanical nightmares and are far from the typical Lexus or Toyota reliability people know of.

John Anderson The interior of z4（and new 3 series ）looks good but the quality is worse than f30....the leather seats feels like fake leather ，thats really ruined the car. Supra used the same powertrain （b58）as the bmw 40i s with cheaper price and better interior/exterior design . I cant find a reason to buy the z4 m40i ，which worth around 80000 CAD in Canada. Really Bmw？😂The price is just insane ，I would expect huge discount in the near future .

Another phenomenal review.It's amazing how nostalgic it feels to watch any hear the supra name come back from the nineties. The nineties was filled with phenomenal cars like the prelude, the supra , NSX All prominent sports cars from a very prominent era. I'm ready to see back clap back from Honda to either see a S 2000 Or a prelude. I love the auto industry in this day and age and can't wait to see what holds in the future for sedans and suvs.

If was wasn't for that "dummy" marketing plot I'd would have had to pay 4k out of pocket for a car that I still owed money on. The hood lines and length remind me greatly of the original Z3's hood. Loved the design then and dig the Supra's design now in spite of some of the fake vents. Another youtube reviewer commented that the Supra's base seat comes with an alcantara insert. I wonder if that will help keep drivers from sliding around laterally. Sometimes the up-scale full leather seating isn't the right option for performance oriented driving. Not a fan of the 'insertable sex toy' automatic control lever, but my god, that transmission and engine sound like they work together perfectly. Love that the Supra is a hatch and that it can carry a couple of bags. The base price is really good, but I'd consider opting for the uprated electronics.

Im happy to be alive that the AE86, Supra mark 4 and previous models, etc are still around, I refuse the idea of buying these newer cars, for the price of a new Supra, i can buy an old supra, or nearly buy one, and they are much more interesting. These new ones are just Z4s with Toyota slapped on it, and a different body work done to it, with less horsepower, more fake vents, and more we could have done this but left it to our tuner buddies because only they can make the car unique. Its crazy how the Yaris is a Mazda, the 86 is a Subaru, and now the Supra is a BMW.

They're CO-DEVELOPED with Subaru and BMW, not rebadged. Badge-engineering is when EVERYTHING is copypasted from another automaker with the main leaving everything alone but badging. The Supra and Z4 are two different cars (then again so are the 124 Spider and Miata), and just so you know that the BRZ and the now-deceased FR-S are rebadged versions of the 86.

Does anyone know why toyota did not use the lexus rc platform for the supra?

Not a fan of what Toyota did to the front end, but I love the rear and especially the rear 3/4 view. I also love how they cleanly integrated a nice, classic dual exhaust into this, with no fake Lexus-like "exhaust" finishers. The engine also sounds amazing.

But the vents are functional Toyota said they capped them and left them for the ultimate tuner according to the the other interviews I watched.
