latrenzo because unlike in the 60s 70s 80s 90S, few cars are made for young people anymore. only ones I can think of at the moment are Mustang , camaro, challenger, , Toyota had the Celica, Honda had the Prelude. Pontiac had the Firebird , but those are long gone. Today 4 door economy cars are the thing like civic , but back in the day, they weren't on the desirable list, they were just cheap economy cars.

Was always a truck person until I drove a mini van. Everything about it is so practical. I was finally able to load boxes and furniture without having to worry about covering it with a tarp in case it rains, not having to worry about stuff being stolen like I would a truck. I can still load plywood, 2x4’s fit without having to keep the back door opened. So much room for the kids.
@Randze6 жыл бұрын
M Tro Although trucks can carry way more. In Minivans you have to fold down the seats or even more to carry all that stuff, and only 2-4-5 seats left. Where is your kids gonna sit on the roof? Lol if it's carrying tons of stuff I'd go for the pickup but if it's a regular family pick up again! If it's a big family minivan-mid-size suv.

Hi Sofyan, that was a fantastic review. Thank you so much for your detailed and quality content. I just want to add a little insight. My father worked as an engineer for Honda making the odyssey and was part of several generational redesigns. Many customers complained about the lack of stow n go capability that Chrysler has but this ommision is there for a reason. The odyssey is after all mostly taken on road trips where you would want the most comfortable car. The Chrysler seats are no where near as comfortable on a trip from say NY to Florida. You did mention it in the video but I think it just deserves a lot more credit. Compare the road trip between the two and everything will be understood. Anyways, thanks so much for posting this video. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

Traded our 2011 GL450 for a 2014 odessey when we had twins and we love it. Our new 2017 Pacifica drives better than our old GL. The new odyssey would be perfect if it adds some features that I use daily from the Pacifica - 360 camera and hands free sliding doors. HUD would also be nice.
@brandononbrand7 жыл бұрын
wasabi9111 Nice! You're so right about 360 camera and hands free doors. Advantage: Pacifica... Honda does at least possess the 360 tech (On Acura RLX), so not cool. Sure needed it when I had a 2011 Odyssey... My concern about Pacifica is Fiat Chrysler's history in regards to quality and reliability. Do you see any issues there?
@Wasabi91117 жыл бұрын
I grew up w/ several chrysler minivans in the 90's. They were all very nice to drive for the first couple of years when new and then all in a sudden, they would deteriorate very quickly. So far the 2017 Pacifica has been great, but there are certainly a number of random sporadic glitches that are annoying. Every so often, the power train/ steering is rougher than usual. It's a leased vehicle - so all these issues are tolerable, unless they get me stranded. I don't intend to keep this for more than 3 yrs - especially since this is a 1st model year car. Otherwise, I love it a lot more than the 2014 Odyssey, which also had its fair share of issues. When the lease is up in 2 yrs, I'll probably end up getting the Pacifica Hybrid.

FYI.. Honda new 10 speed does not actually have a wider spread gear ratios compared to the 9 speed, In fact the ZF9 Speed still have the lowest gear and the highest gears available... What the 10 speedo is trying to do is revert the backlash of the horrible shifting behavior of the ZF9 Speed by giving consumers a more traditional shifting transmission. That is why there is absolutely no MPG change between the 2.

@CaptainDawg026 жыл бұрын
Honestly, why is the stow-n-go seating a big deal? I can never see myself or really any parent using the stow-n-go seating that Odyssey's are dinged for not having (which they can't, because there is a patent on it). A huge benefit to Odyssey seats are that they are wider, thicker, and more comfortable in the second row. They can slide forward and backward and now side-to-side. So if that's not versatility, I have no clue what is? Also, install car seats in these minivans...much easier in the Odyssey and you can fit more in with the Odyssey.

I understand that the Honda Engineered 10-speed Transmission drives nicer than the 9-speed Transmission that is the same one that Chrysler uses on their min-van.. But, something to keep in mind, the Dodge and Chrysler Mini-van transmissions have lasted over 300 when their transmission fluid is changed regularly, while the Honda Odyssey transmissions have been lasting only 140 to 200k. So, I would take the 2017 or 2018 Odyssey with the 9-speed Chrysler transmission most definitely. The new Odyssey shipping with the 9-speed Chrysler transmission might be the final solution to the Odyssey's longtime transmission woes.

It's crazy to think the old Honda Odyssey was actually a one man dune buggy followed by what now would be a Honda CRV with 4 traditional doors that don't slide. Caraaazy

This has the engine that should be in the Accord. YEAH I SAID IT. But I don’t mean it. 😂😂😂
@theredline7 жыл бұрын
Honda could have easily put this motor in the new Accord, however, we kind of understand why they went with the 2.0T route instead. The extra low-end torque of that engine contributes to the effortless acceleration feel and without a heavy V6 over the front axle, they were better able to redistribute the weight and improve the Accord's handling.
@masterwhopper4147 жыл бұрын
But Sofyan....we all know the V6 has the more enticing growl and exhaust note
@tokunin83247 жыл бұрын
next Mugen Type R should have this and add AWD. Imagine that

I was really upset Honda took the V6 away from the Accord... but I will admit, that new 2.0 4-cylinder in the Accord sounds AMAZING when you floor it! I think a good deal of that has to do with in-cabin audio trickery, but it still sounds completely convincing.

Excellent Review Sofyan! I also had an opportunity to film a review of the Elite trim-level of the all-new 5th Generation Odyssey back a month ago, which will be coming out soon. I was not only impressed with both the Exterior and Interior, but even the brand-new infotainment system really impressed me, which I found to be really easy use. In addition, out of the all of the minivans that are out on the market, which one do you like the best? - Michael

It's so hard to say, there are so many good things about the Chrysler Pacifica, especially those stow n' go second row seats, we found the Odyssey to be more pleasant to drive but you just can't beat the Chrysler's interior flexibility. The Chrysler's adaptive cruise control also comes down to a full stop unlike the Honda's...
@Nexccelerator7 жыл бұрын
Same here! Interior Flexibility is one of the most important things when it comes down to hauling a lot of stuff. While having adaptive cruse control is a good thing, not shutting down at a full stop does leave a lot to be desired as it does pose a safety hazard in that matter. Hopefully Honda will correct that issue in the near future to prevent accidents from happening. - Michael

Redline Reviews The Pacifica even has a better two touchscreen rear seat entertainment mounted on each front row seat headrest, a panoramic sunroof, and a hybrid.

2018 Honda Odyssey or 2017 Toyota Sienna? Which one to buy?
@b.f.3787 жыл бұрын
Odyssey because it's brand new for 2018, so it has new & better tech. The Sienna is getting another refresh for 2018, so you might as well wait til the '18 Sienna to come out & then see for yaself.

Go for odyssey......just because seianna has awe didn’t mean it’s better....but if you lan on going off roasting in a minivan then get the seianna......but the odyssey is better and more reliable
@jxmar_6 жыл бұрын
Nick Nack first of all it’s AWD! And people don’t buy a minivan for sportiness you buy a minivan for it’s reliability and convenience! The sienna offers AWD and panoramic sunroof in which the odyssey doesn’t offer that! Plus Toyota looks better and more reliable
@nicknack55236 жыл бұрын
Proper Gods yea you act like someone is buying a minivan for going off-roading just because it has sad.....but does a seianna have. Rear dvd entertainment......nobody cares about a stupid panoramic sunroof....it’s not like everybody is gonna get in the car and look up at the sky like wow that’s so coool.....and yea they buy it for its reliability.....the Honda is more reliable......your just buthurt because you probley have a seianna and you can’t stand the fact that the odyssey is better

Don’t waste your money for the new 2018 Honda odyssey. The new designed minivan has serious electronic problems. My coworker bought the 2018 exl only lasted 8 months and 40,000-miles the electronic transmission system was broken. Honda headquarter has replaced a new transmission system for free and broken again after 3 weeks. When the car driving on the highway, it will suddenly decelerate automatically. The indicator lights are all on! Several times almost hit by the vehicles behind. The main thing: Honda don't know why(how to fix it)!!
