Kia had one of the smallest SUV lineups in the US for quite some time. Last year, they added the much needed and very popular Telluride to the family and for 2021, the subcompact SUV segment is heating up with the addition of the new #KiaSeltos. The small #Kia #Seltos is based on the Hyundai Kona platform but is slightly larger and with its own unique interior and exterior. The result is a car that looks much more expensive and distinctive than its price would suggest. With a starting price of under $22,000, we expect this new #SeltosSX to be a hot new entry into the segment, just like its bigger brother #KiaTelluride.

The 2021 Kia Seltos is finally here and it seems like the company has injected quite if a bit of Telluride swag into a smaller package. We love it’s turbo engine, DCT, standout design, and interior packaging. Even it’s $29,500 fully loaded price is a little less expensive than top versions of the Mazda CX-30, Subaru Crosstrek, and Jeep Renegade. Are you guys impressed? Because we certainly were.

@@hynsum hey, following are seltos engine options in India 1. 1.4 L Gdi turbo charged petrol engine 2. 1.5 L naturally aspirated Petrol engine 3. 1.5 L turbo charged Diesel engine Also these engine are offered in 6 speed manual and 7 speed DCT automatic.

Killer video, Redline! Really liking the direction that Kia is going lately. This new Seltos seems like a pretty solid addition to the Kia lineup, and it should definitely hold it's own particularly well against its competitors... The styling is there, the power seems to be there, and the practicality also seems to be there. All in all, it appears to be a well-rounded crossover at a very competitive price. It should be a hit for Kia! It'll be interesting to see how this performs alongside the Soul and Niro. Keep it up, and absolutely loving these Alex collabs. Haha!

Awesome video! Really enjoy the collaboration videos with AoA. 👍🏼 The Seltos is gonna' be a hit. I always thought the Soul was missing an AWD option and this certainly fills that void. I am still hoping KIA brings the Mohave back to the USA. There *is* a market for a 4WD-ladder frame suv and it won't canibalize on the Telluride as the target market is different. Fingers crossed!

Kia has come a long long way in design. I'd say the interior is definitely the best in the class for something under 30 grand. Lots of power, tech, awd, awesome interior. But of course people still have an issue because it's a kia.

We just traded in my wife’s Sportage SX Turbo for our Telluride. But outside the looks-and especially the interior-the Sportage blows this away. But, this will attract a lot of new people to the brand that would or would not consider the Kia Soul. This is basically for the Soul shopper who has grown up.

Resale Value still sucks on Kia’s. It’s a fact Had one , couldn’t sell it for months even though it was lowest price Soul on market. Low mileage , no accidents , local car , 2 yrs old at the time.

jack p I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve sold 4 and 7 year old Sorentos for Thousands over sticker twice and broke even on our Sportage. Current Kia can sell for Thousands OVER new sticker. The value is in the top line SX/SXL trims.

jack p Not over asking but thousands over KBB both times. One was a dealer trade-in-not for a dealer branded car, in fact I bought the second Sorento for below sticker. Then a year and a half later sold that one at $4k over loan value in a direct sale. Certified Tellurides are selling for above sticker with 5-10k miles. Check Edmunds.com. You need to increase your sample size.

In the Canadian version, the SX includes the cooled front seats, heated wheel drive and the heads up display, so, you were right about those features in other markets :) Very Nice car! Now, I’m just waiting for my local Kia to call me for a test drive- depending on that test drive, l’ll probably be a futur owner of a Seltos soon :)

I paid more for my Kia than a lot of customers do because my dealership doesn’t want to lose money on employees but they’re willing to do so for customers. There’s not a huge markup in cars like there used to be. Dealerships make more money on volume than on individual sales. Our parts and service department is the big money maker. Not sales. We are just trying to make a living. We aren’t all bad. (Some still are. Watch out for those dealerships). But ours in particular goes about sales in an information-based process. Not a pushy, vague, secretive process. It’s far too difficult to mark up cars when the internet is a thing nowadays. Competitive pricing is a must, which is why manufacturers pay out on volume more than anything.

Unless it's a Porsche PDK, I'm good with a conventional automatic that's programmed properly. Not interested in a CVT or a DCT on a Kia. I can only imagine reliability 5 yrs down the road. Turbos are fun but come with their own set of issues.

My wife bought a top of the line Sorento last year. The fit and finish of the car is top notch. She loves all the safety and convenience features. I have a Tesla Model 3. I wish the Tesla had some of the same features (360° cameras, Apple CarPlay).

You can have a full screen on the display if you want… just have to go into your settings and turn off split screen function… I have the SX trim and I love it. I just wish the US had cooling seats, heated steering wheel and heads up display like Canada

Nice job Kia! Looks like my favorite CUV in this category. My personal preference is for a meatier tire look with more tire sidewall. I would opt for a smaller diameter aftermarket wheel and fit the biggest tires allowed.

Thanks for this review! I may go with the EX trim for my new everyday car. I've always been a faithful Honda buyer for reliability but I love this vehicle and the price! I was worried when I found out it's a CVT transmission (lx,s,ex models) but I am happy to hear from you that the Kia's CVT is top of the line. Still researching before I decide and I pray it's as reliable as my Honda and will last for some years. Your videos are always so detailed and helpful! Thanks again!

I think you'd like it. I bought a Hyundai Tucson after riding in a friend's. I was pleasantly surprised. And the price compared to the rest of the vehicles in it's size class -- unbelievable. If I were into switching cars frequently, I'd be going for this Seltos or even the new Hyundai Sonata!

@@dave_riots Thank you for your input! I love that the higher trim offers an automatic but I have to do more research on DCT before I decide. Only bad thing I've heard is getting a DCT to power up when in stop and go traffic. I never drove a stick so really I would love to get that option strictly for the automatic version of the seltos and of course the great upgrades. It's an option on my list too.

I'm glad the Seltos is more than just good looks. That being said, I hope this new design direction makes it into the Sportage whenever they decide to redesign it, that vehicle is looking VERY old compared to the rest of the Kia SUV lineup. Honestly if they just made the Sportage a sized-up Seltos with a 250 hp engine option I'd be happy.

Does this model have automatic engine start/stop? Is it smooth? Is it easy to disable (hard button or on-screen menu)? And a lot of shoppers don't want the feature at all. So it would be great to know. It's much more important than the sound of the door closing.

No dual zone climate control had to point that out to the sales person who cannot believe it until we actually went out to the seltos And he came back and said the customer is right there is no dual zone climate control
