Ditto, but we really need a way to factor in the fact that certain brands never ever sell for close to MSRP. Some brands prefer the "omg check out 25% off" which is everyday pricing. Buy a Subaru, and expect to pay over invoice. I've never seen a Subaru with the $10K+ off advertisements that you see for GM vehicles for example.

Husky Dinosaur although Subaru probably doesn’t do much discount, but I am sure they are willing discount a thousand or 2 thousand off the MSRP, which is still cheaper than any of its competitors, I keep hearing from owners that they got the fully loaded sport trim forester for 2 or 3 thousands cheaper.

I'd take the CX-5 , a decently equipped pakage with adequate power for speed and space for needs. The Forester is ok if you're looking for a comfortable and nicely equipped everyday car for seniors and need longevity (Not sure about that cvt though). As for the xt4 , 55k ?! That's a no for me when there's the much nicer mid level xt5 that's equipped with almost everything the xt4 has with a v6 , although I do like the xt4.

Same reason some would choose a $32K BMW or Mercedes, XT4 and CX-5 2.5T can match it on price in the low $30's with AWD, which do you want to pull up to the valet in? I own a '19 Signature trim CX-5. There is just no way to get 18 mpg in typical driving. For the first 500 miles I've averaged 24.5 mpg in a mix of city and highway driving. IMHO, you'd have to be doing a 0-60 test from every stop light to average 18 mpg. Unless there was something terribly wrong with the tested vehicle in this video, to present a 9 mpg differential between the Forester and CX-5 is misleading to potential buyers.

God, I just love the CX5! And in that red paint it is just gorgeous! And what’s great about the CX-5 is if you want to get better gas mileage, you can get a grand touring NA engine, plus it will cost less. Just like Sofyan, the Mazda puts a big old smile on my face! I actually like the Cadillac too, but it would have to be about 10 grand less with a lot of those features coming standard and not nickel and diming you to death with the options😁👍🏻

The interesting thing here is that although Mazda is a mainstream brand, and therefore the dash stitching would be assume to be faux stitching.... it actually is real stitching. A little known fact is that the dash assemblies, for decades have been put together by a women only team. They recently decided to up their materials on the dash, which meant adding real stitched leather components. Even the metal additions to the dash and doors is now real machined metal instead of coloured plastic. Very nice touch Mazda! They have highlighted this in their new video: "Tailored to you". Although I was hearing about this last year on my trip to their main factory in Hiroshima, Japan.

First and per most car enthusiast usual, Subaru’s customer wouldn’t cross shop anything here except for the Mazda 5 and that’s a big if. People who follow the Subaru brand looks for practicality, functionality, dependability, longevity and resale value. How many of those could the other 2 check off???. I’LL Wait. If you want to do a comparison, compare cars with their competitors. Not something that they’ll never see. The only time these cars would meet is at Whole Foods. *Cadillac would’ve just came for whole wheat bread and fresh cut turkey breast *Mazda would’ve came for Lactose Free milk, farm raised eggs, and tonight’s dinner *And Subaru would have enough room for a months worth of groceries, plus space for a new flat screen tv and movies to watch after tonight’s great meal. And for those of you buying for looks, please study : Reliability Cost to own Crash test ratings Consumers Report ratings Brand report Cards And Resale value In a year that $55,000 caddy will be the same price as a base 2020 Subaru Impreza. And the Mazda might get you $18,000 if you’re lucky... Research people.....

I may be biased, but the CX5 is the best in my opinion. I love the brand though funny enough I don't own a Mazda. Purely for the sake of looks, features and brand recognition, the Mazda sits in first place. That being said we don't have Cadillac as a brand in Australia, not anymore at least. Just a grear honest take here by him. Great review. The CVT is never luxury. Subaru is instantly out. Just no. I'd take the Mazda CX5 or Acura RDX over pretty much any SUV in its class size. Cadillac on the Other hand is so overpriced its insulting. Volvo XC40 in its class would be my choice. X2 is you want something sporty

Trenton_ A ignorant?? Son you must know nothing about cars. GM is one of the worst manufacturers as far as reliability that there exists. On top of the 55k price tag, you would be either rich or poor and stupid to buy it. Buy a Cadillac, you’ll soon see what I’m saying.

I have a Forester, my sister has a new CX5 (non turbo). The CX5 is a bit more premium feeling, but the Subaru seems MUCH roomier, enhanced by big, wide seats and a huge greenhouse. For a tallish guy like myself (6'3"), that is luxury! Both are great, though - can't go wrong with either.

18 mpg is inexcusable for the Mazda, especially since it has the least amount of room. That's a deal breaker if you have a family and live in California (high gas prices).

first of all, love the comparison video btw, even tho im not buying any of these rn. my suggestion is next time you get a base Cadillac, for around 35-40k, and than compare it to fully loaded subarus or mazads etc... that way they have a same price tag, and we will see which one is worth the money, respectively. tho for me im gonna pick the mazda cx5 as well, the difference on every aspect feels like more than just $4k. the Cadillac, 55k, I would rather get a bmw x3 stuff like that, even tho I know im not getting as many features in the bmw as I am in the Cadillac, but still.

2020 to 2022 xt4 has had big improvements. I recommend doing a new video with an updated comparison. Supercruise, brakes, handling, the active sport suspension, etc. And comparative to other luxury brands has great performance. I test drove a gtr Mazda cx5 and xt4, and much prevered the xt4. Wierd to listen to you say it didn't feel that way for you. Mazda also drinks fuel, and is less reliable. Cx5 has an bad feeling ride and I drive a civic as my daily to compare lol.

I really like the Mazda but the rear seats won't fold down flat without scooting the front seat forward or taking out the headrests. There is also a learning curve on the Mazda infotainment. The cargo capacity is limited.

Anyone who has been paying attention knows that XT4 is more closely related to the Buick Regal or Lacrosse or Chevy Malibu as it sits on all new variation of the Epsilon II platform. And that platform is widely acclaimed for its premium feel. Contrastingly, the Equinox is on the Delta platform which it is a variation with the Chevy Cruze Opel Astra. In fact, when introduced both GM and Cadillac said that it is on its own unnamed platform. The idea that this is related to the Equinox is an anti-Cadillac disinformation campaign. It’s origins are not a state secret for crying out loud.

I like the Subaru Forester out of them all, style, practicality, Symetrical AWD unbeaten for New England weather and off road ability, comfort, convenience, safety, and amenities, for my money #1 hands down the very best as good as it gets, and I also think its the best looking, also best gas mileage, and range, this vehicle is not just for families.

I purchased a 2018 Subaru Forester Touring XT with the 2.0 turbo. It beats these three in every category that I value. It is faster, better volume, better greenhouse, more comfortable, and cost me much less than the Mazda or Cadillac. The other features you cover are not worth the money unless people think the moniker is worth thousands of dollars for some imagined bragging rights.

DISCLAIMER: I own a 2019 MAZDA CX-5 Grand TouringReserve (2.5 L. turbo, AWD) and given its 5 star crash test rating, great steering feel and very good handling plus its MANY safety and convenience features I'll STILL take it over the Caddy. And then there is the US $15,000. lower price than the Cadillac. BTW I removed my "low rent" prop rod and installed dual gas hood struts. MUCH nicer. NOTE: If you run 100 octane gas in a turbo CX-5 you will feel POWER! Glad the ECU is programmed to handle 100 octane gas.

First off, snaps for the triple door closing lol. I don’t think the Caddy stood a chance. For $55k, that is just not worth it. Like you said; if it was ten grand less and had a bit more space in the rear and the truck, it would be an good choice (minus the gauges). I would’ve chosen the Subie for practicality (in another color and with the more powerful engine). The Mazda though, it stirs and emotion and jars a reaction. It would be my choice as well just because the Subie isn’t as powerful in this test and because of that horrid color lol

Except the Premium lux XT4 does not sticker for $55k, the Sport Trim is an "eye watering" $56k if you get everything. The trim doesn't determine the price, it determines the features. A feature less Sport XT4 MSRP is $44k or a completely built Prem Lux at $51. This is a weird comparison, is there a yacht vs fishing boat somewhere on this channel? Do you have the luxury to purchase a new vehicle or can you just barely afford a new one?

Between the 2 , I'm going Subaru. Better for use in the north. Stomps the shit out of the Mazda off road. He's acting like a soccer mom. Since when does being S.U.V. not count in an SUV? No mention of 4 wheel, down hill decent control, or the 3 tire control settings. Very Disappointing comparisons. He clearly favors the Mazda, though as an S.U.V., the Forester is FAR superior.

I have a 18 CX9 but damn when did CX5 cost up to 39k? My CX9 only cost me 38k out the door, and much larger and spacious...lol. Well given it only the 2nd trim from base but it got almost everything this 39k CX5 got except for HUD, ventilated seat and steering wheel heater, and AWD. Even does better in mpg than this CX5, and hold up to 7 passengers, better rear seat vent control, have rear seat sunshade built in on 2nd row. Now this really got my head scratching, now to have everything this CX5 has in CX9, it only cost 5k more in GT trim, almost seems like CX9 is a better value compare to CX5.
