I think the reason the first works so well is most people can relate to wanting to lose your virginity and then losing it a way you really didn't expect. Then the second one most people can relate to because we have all at some point (most in college) wonder if they are really living their best life. I think their longevity is a testament to writing, but the performances really make it feel really real.

Terrific review / commentary. Fun fact - we had 11 weeks from wrap to release on this movie. Normally you have 30-36 weeks. And in that time, there were three days of reshoots and two previews. Yeah. Anyone who says a movie (or moment in a movie) is problematic and couldn't be made today takes movies WAY too seriously. The things in these films were NEVER ok, but movies aren't meant to be emulated. These films are just funny and entertaining.

@@Joker_JAK I think people who say that are right ha. I hate it, but if this movie came out now there would be multiple crybabies lined up about how triggered they are and how we should be ashamed of ourselves for laughing. Then *_AR_* and finally, the weakest, *_APP: Book of Love_* (fair warning: two cases of bestiality = 👎) SPOILERS for Book of Love/////////////////////////////////// (They'll probably won't do the spin-offs.) It is revealed that the person who started the sex Bible from AP1 (i.e. Tongue Twister) is none other than... 🥁🥁🥁 ... Mr. Levinstein! Thus consolidating himself as the absolute GOAT of the franchise.
