I saw this when I was 15. I had grown up watching all the John Hughes H.S. movies with my mom and dad who loved them. I’d also seen American Pie, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Varsity Blues. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard than the whole Football sequence. The over the top cursing coach, the Reggie Ray concussion bit, mixed with Bring it On. I remember having a hard time breathing. This was perfect comedy for its time.

The main premise of the popular boy taking a bet to make the poor unpopular girl prom queen was parodying "She's All That". Yeah, "Can't Hardly Wait" is represented here too. For one thing, all of the "Amanda Becker is so perfect" stuff is parodying that movie. Also, a lot of the people at the party were dressed in the same clothes from that movie.
