Slx dc xt is my favorite in the slx reels, curado dc is my favorite kind of curado reel, i only have 1 scorpion dc which is the newest one they came out with, i think the 2021 model? I like the scorpion dc its just alittle heavy! I have a metanium i need the dc version! I want the new model if they ever come out with it!!!

new 23 slx dc and also the slx dc xt tested as a bfs. I already have the older slx dc and the dc xt and the xt is hands down a better casting reel.

@@BackWaterAnglers I was looking at new stuff today and noticed it on sale for 188$ best deal ever. I can't even talk myself into upgrading to a 400$ reel. I wish it had a clicking spool adjustment and clicking drag star. If it did it would be perfect.

we need the bfs slx in the states. Theres a void in bfs in the low to mid bracket. kasting zephyr bfs is the only name brand reel below the curado bfs. Price a slx bfs at 130-150 and it would sell.

Slx DC XT is easily the best bang for the buck. Probably can rival or out perform curados and cronarchs. It clearly punches above its weight class across the board. My only knock out of it, is the gear that reengages the reel. The machine cut is very rough, I simply replaced the part with a JDM 2017 scorpion part. Hands down best reel I ever owned.

@@salaadin Do you own an slx dc xt and felt how rough it is when you reengage it after a cast? I owned 2 of them and realized its just how they are. It is called an Anti Reverse ratchet (ARR). The slx dc xt isnt made in japan, its made in Thailand if I could recall. The stock ARR is a couple of mm wider than the JDM 2017 scorpion ARR and it seems to be made out of steel instead of aluminum which is why it turns out to be roughly cut. 17 scorpion shares the same body and parts as the slx dc xt. After I switched that annoying ARR I cant put this reel down!

@@KyoloFlash No I don't own a SLX DC XT yet but I want one to pair with my Metanium DC so just factoring how much additional I need to spend for a comparable user experience. But thanks, I will go look for how much it will cost to replace that ARR.

Hey, I'm a shimano reel junky as well haha... you turned me on to the SLX DC XT 70 I had to have 1 after I saw your review on it, I absolutely love it!... Although I did buy a original SLX reel when they came out and I ended up trading back in to my local tackle shop after the drag star no longer clicked and the drag would also loosen itself after light use. Since they no longer stocked the original they gave me a SLX A instead ... it is alot quieter and the drag doesn't seem to loosen nearly as easily over time... Because I've already fished with the SLX A reel my vote would be the new SLX DC Japan model reel. Although my next purchase will probably be the SLX BFS reel ✌️

I think you should try the SLX DC XT because it is cheaper at JLS as you mentioned. The SLX A does look like a great deal, yes but I don't think you really need to compare it to anything as it won't be much different than the original SLX, IMO. Thanks as always. i have picked up a couple of Vanford reels from JLS and they are really great. Thanks for the videos. You opened up my eyes to new markets.

Just grabbed the 23 SLX DC. Wish this had come out a few weeks ago. You’d think the newest one is the best one. I’m sure I’ll be plenty happy with it.

I have several SLX models not including the BFS model. Honestly loving the 70 MGL right now. Great reel and tough to beat the MGL spool IMO. Definitely cannot pick a bad SLX reel; great line for every budget.

I like the curado and scorpion BFS Reels over SLX I know it’s the same reel but it’s because it’s green and gold that’s why but I never buy them because I would buy the metanuim 100 over both of these reels that’s me

The 23 slx dc 70 is not the same frame as the usdm slx dc. It is a smaller frame to fit the new smaller mgl 3 spool. You can feel and see in person that it is a smaller reel

This one is easy, SLX DC XT. We all know that the SLX A is going to be a killer workhorse reel for the common man. The JDM SLX DC XT is for the hardcore gear head.
