I have the Piscifun Carbon XCS in black paired with a Piscifun Serpent heavy action rod. It's the lightest combo I own. I've been casting a worm with a 1/8 oz weight and it casts a mile with absolutely no backlash. Internal brake set on 1 and magnetic brake set to 10-12. I rarely comment on KZbin, but when I saw this on "The Reel Test" I had to say something. This reel is amazing. Don't wait for the casting video, just get it.

Camaro Jeff do you like the Piscifun Serpent Rod?
@garyraffensperger71932 жыл бұрын
These things are slick! Light as heck, mine is mounted on a very light Ugly Stik Carbon rod. The swing wing side plate rocks. Both the spool tension knob and drag control knob provide audible and tactile clicks, something rarely seen in budget reels. I used the black version of the carbon XCS for Valdez silver salmon this past fall. It performed like a champ on strong, hard charging coho, a few running 10-12 lbs. All functions worked as they should. Very little line overrun while casting, and I wasn't even using the centrifugal braking system....or my thumb! Amazon was out of stock of the white version until last week, when I finally got a chance to order that one. Merry Christmas to me! LOL If you're considering of of these, then buy with confidence. They are the real deal!

I have the Honor XT, Carbon X, and the Captain for saltwater fishing. Let me tell ya, when it comes to small to medium sized reels all I use nowadays are Piscifun reels! Best bang for the buck reels I have ever used! The Captain is now my favorite spinning reels, I like it more than the $250 Penn and Shimano reels that I also own and I only paid $65 for it! Just a crazy bargain! The Captain is so popular it is now sold out on the company’s website. Now I can’t even find the size that I want anywhere on the Internet when I tried to buy another one! Usually the company always sends me discount codes to encourage me to buy its reels, but now it runs out.

I have had this reel in mind since it was introduced. However, I was hoping that you would be reviewing it and passed on your thoughts about this reel first. With a shallow spool would this make a BFS baitcasting reel do you think. If so I am even more keen on this reel if you can convince Piscifun to make a BFS spool for it! Keep the faith and the outstanding work up! It's appreciated greatly!

I was reading an article on Piscifun. Apparently they’re made in the same Chinese factory that Daiwa uses for their Chinese made reels. Apparently their carbon x spinning reel uses the same material as the Tatula LT spinning reels. The rotors have the same blocky look with a few line design changes. The carbon x handle screws right into the frame just like my daiwa fuego and exceler as well. Pretty premium features for a 80-90 dollar spinning reel. May have to pick one up along with one of these this summer and put them through the ringer. Been looking for a spinning reel for an ultra light combo and a casting reel for a combo to keep in the truck 24/7 so these fit the bill.

There is a good reason for not having white. I would give it 8 fishing trips before it turns yellow or stained if your a bait fisherman. Having said that it looks awesome, it would match perfectly with a abu garcia veritas rod. Not sure what that rod performs like but the colour scheme would be sweet 👌👍. A cast battle is 'ok'. Even a bird's nest lure dump 10ft infront of you is good to although we sorta know what happens here. Maybe a wide variety of weights casted from ultra light to fairly heavy. I also really think you need to do a drag test, straigh pull from the reel no rod loading.

@@ilpez3031 I decided to go with the Carbon XCS and haven't had any issues. I had failure of the Spark Pro thumb bar after about 4 months of intense usage for tournaments. I've bought two of these through Amazon and BOTH of them came defective. They grind really loud and I couldn't find out what was wrong with the reels. If you don't have any lures on it, you won't hear the grind but as soon as you cast a lure and reel it sounds like two gears colliding with each other. I did the usual lubing up before use but still no avail. Any advice or suggestions of why this may be happening?? Sorry but the Lew’s TXS Reel is FAR better than this Abu Garcia so I would never call it the benchmark reel at the $60 price point! And, after owning a few of their mid to higher end tier reels, I can’t say I’d go Abu Garcia for any category of baitcaster, as I was thoroughly disappointed with several of their reels, particularly the Revo SX & STX models. Cheaper Lew’s Reels just blew them out of the water with how easily they cast lighter lures and handled casting into the wind. The AG Reels felt tight and casting distance sucked terribly to the point that even reeling gave a feeling of resistance. If you’ve never casted a TXS, I urge you to do so. It’s likely not as light as the Piscifun Carbon Lite, but it’s light enough and it’s dual braking systems allow you to cast it impressively far without backlashing or over spoiling! I was just gifted a 2nd Kastking Sparticus 2, but this was the reel I had my eye on since I first saw it 5 months or so ago. I may just order one after this review as it seems to tick all the boxes spec-wise!

If Piscifun ever make reels 1/100th as bad as Lew’s reels then people would absolutely destroy the company’s reputation! I tell people all the time that the only reason people buy Lew’s products is because it is an American company! If it has to compete on a level playing field with Piscifun then it would get absolutely destroyed! I’m still pissed off the last two Lew’s spinning reels that I bought go straight to the dumpsters! That’s how bad they were! They’re not even worth spending on the shipping costs that Lew’s asked me to send to them in order for them to give me my refunds, that’s how bad they are! They are the absolutely worst fishing products that I have ever bought from any company and I have all sorts of rods and reels that I bought from many American, Japanese, and Chinese companies!

It is for sure Tatula knock off.. It's seems nice, and would work well..but, carbon ( re-enforced epoxy/plastic) doesn't seem to hold up under heavy stress. So if you hook up into a rather large fish...yur probably gunna end up with frame twist , which basically makes the reel useless.. Great looking reel, just not convinced personally. I'd prefer to see the frame to be aluminum...just for a sense of comfort, as I have had 2 "carbon" reels that literally cracked under heavy weight of a fishy...one I was lucky enough to hand line in the rest of the way...decent striper ( wasn't fishing for striper thought) other one....not so much...cracked and then the whole rig went south...the rod was also useless after... But it serves the purpose of lure retrieve now when needed...lol the reel....let's say the winter bonfire took care of that....
