This is a great video and all but I just want to mention that you should make sure if your not getting 'good' fps then you should allow more ram usage because out of the box the settings don't usually allow much ram. Along with that not many people use the highest settings on products and expect if to run butter smooth.

Yeah and that's because: 1. GPU with little/no documentation 2. Metal closed source API (Industry standard APIs like Vulkan/OpenGL are NOT supported, and equivalencies/translators are missing features cause of Metal) 3. 32bit Applications deprecated since MacOS Catalina Which is truly a shame. MX apple silicon chipsets are very powerful and their integrated GPU are awesome thanks to the shared memory and low power consumption but apple doing apple things...

The base model M2 Air is controversial. That slow SSD is definitely an issue. If you want gaming, upgrade your GPU to 10 cores. Max Tech’s 10 core GPU M2 MBA comparison video shows that the 10 core version is significantly faster than the 8 core version of the MacBook Air in GPU demanding tasks such as 3D rendering and gaming. Thermal throttle won’t be an issue if you run M2 MBA on efficiency cores (low power mode). The temperatures won’t be the coolest (around 50 degrees C, 60 max), but it is amazing considering the fanless design of the laptop. Surprisingly, it is still cooler than the Dell XPS 13 plus, the Zenbook 13 OLED and the Thinkpad X1 Carbon. The minimal gaming configurations should be 512GB SSD/16GB RAM/10 core GPU although Created by Ella’s M2 MBA review video mentioned that there is minimal difference in performance between the 8GB RAM and the 16GB RAM version for daily tasks. I believe that 8GB RAM is enough for gaming, but 16GB RAM version is definitely safer. That said, don’t buy the base model of the M2 MBA for intensive tasks. Edit: I don’t game on expensive gadgets since I don’t want to punch them out of anger. Even then, I got the 10 core GPU model with 512GB SSD and 8GB RAM just to be fancy and for Geekbench benchmarks.

@@randomacc7808 I have both and this is just untrue. Take good care of your laptop and it will last. I have a 2013 lenovo laptop, and it is still great for casual gaming, daily tasks, has more ports, a touchscreen and manages medium range tasks well. It will struggle to play high end gaming, but it always has with its integrated graphics. I have used it for 10 years and it is as perfectly usable now as it was then. I also use an m2 macbook air, and I must say that it does have its perks. It is faster, and more reliable, the screen has better quality and the user experience is more pleasant overall. But I am still questioning its price. Gaming on it is a silly idea, and the lack of ports for a device this price is not justified. It is great for content creation, and the ecosystem’s amazing. But it’s awful for gaming and doesn’t support more than one external screen. If you only use your laptop for daily tasks, a macbook will always win. It’s consistent and reliable. It always delivers what it’s supposed to. A windows machine is generally less consistent, the battery is worse and it does have its unexpected issues. But everything is more optimized for it, especially gaming. So its up to you to decide honestly.
