I’ve watched your video several times now, and have enjoyed your take on cleaning your gun. Thank you for actually starting out with a gun that needed cleaning, so I could actually see how it works.

Thanks for this detailed video. I watched it, and then rewatched it pausing to follow along. My gun feels like a well oiled machine. Thank you!

Thanks for this awesome video. I`ve got a VP9 as my duty gun but we never got an instruction as good as this one. Keep on going!

Great instructional video. Watched the entire thing. Taking my VP9 Match to the range tomorrow for first time use. Did have question, though. No bore snake incorporated into cleaning process of barrel for removing the carbon residue? Beginner level at all of this, so would like to hear.

Sweet deal, and I hope you enjoy taking it out for the first time! I typically either deep clean (as shown in this video) or use a bore snake for a quick clean. Realistically there’s nothing a bore snake is going to do, that brushes and patches won’t already have done already, so it’s basically a redundancy. If you pull a bore snake, it’ll get *most* of the fouling out, but not all. If you run brushes and patches till everything is clean, then you’ve got all of the residue out anyway. It’s preference, mostly

How often do you perform this cleaning on your hk? After how many rounds? Also, what would be the difference in amount of oil applied for a duty/carry gun versus a comp gun?

Excellent tutorial! Hows that VP9 holding up?
@thereloadingcraft Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Holding up excellent! At this point it has roughly 6-8k rounds through it, looks virtually identical in condition to how it does in the video, and has never had a single part replaced. Recoil springs are still good, trigger is perfectly crisp as it always was, and it’s running like a top! I may go a bit heavier on the oil than others do (because it’s a comp gun, not a duty carry) but the reduced wear speaks for itself haha

What HOLOSUN are you using?
@johnebert12338 ай бұрын
this is like a once a year cleaning. unless you are in an active war zone, this is way overkill for a 500 round cadence cleaning. Modern firearm coatings are extremely advanced, this is just not required that often.
@DeLL1162 ай бұрын
Does it hurt to maintain like this? I pretty much do this after every range trip - usually about every 250-300 rounds.
@thereloadingcraft2 ай бұрын
Depends on how much time you want to spend cleaning whenever you do need to clean, and also how dirty your regular ammo is.
@thereloadingcraft2 ай бұрын
No it doesn’t hurt to clean like this, although you don’t need harsh solvents or brushes that often. A thorough (but basic) cleaning is usually plenty.

What ammo were you using? It looks very dirty.
