What an incredible experience for me to hear this! I lived down the road from Robert Moog, learning of his synthesizer as a teenager. At more or less the same time, I read and fell in love with The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. To top it all off, my mother was a first generation Finnish American who gave me my appreciation for literature and an interest in her mysterious tongue. It is no wonder that Tolkien chose this unique language as a base for his Elvish lexicon. Some years later, my husband gave me a beautiful gift of a Kantele, which I passed on to our son, an avid string musician. Talk about degrees of separation. This theremin/kantele piece describes several connections in my life. Thank you, Peter Pringle.

The Theremin is the most fantastic instrument I have ever heard. This tune played on it almost brought me to tears, and it takes a lot to do that. I'd like to hear some modern tunes played on it. The Kantele is, to me, like a horizontal harp and he plucked it like a harp and also played it like a slide guitar or a Dobro. I'd love to know the name of the tune being played. If anyone knows then please say in a comment. Thanks.
