The manga is great and the anime is doing it justice. Trust me when i say it, Kaiju no. 8 is just warming up and the story will deliver.

Seeing how they animated kafkas transformation, i think the reason why he cant transform even with the suit is because the kaiju part wraps around his body and not inside the suit so therefore if he transforms they wouldn't be getting kafka's suit percentage readings and instead they would detect the kaiju part that wrapped around his body in transformation

I'm not sure if this is the case, but if Kaiju power readings are measured exactly like earthquake scaling, on a magnitude scale, that means that the power difference between 6.4 and 9.8 isn't as linear as ~150% more powerful; it's exponential, and closer to three hundred and thirty-three THOUSAND TIMES STRONGER. (My math might be wrong lol but its based on the power of an earthquake relative to a hypothetical amount of TNT in kg on a Ritcher scale)

You’re correct, the jump from 6.4 to 9.8 doesn’t mean that a Kaiju at Kafka’s level could be taken down by less than 2 company’s worth of officers, rather it would take an entire division WITH support from additional divisions. I’m not sure about the exact number but it is indeed exponential

One of the things i like about this show and the manga is how the MC (kafka) is 32 years old compared to the other shonen anime with a teenager protagonist. I also like how it doesnt feel like mina ashiro and kikoru(i mean kikoru is a teenager, but some manga are yk...) is a love interest since kafka is 32 and mina is 28 it feels like brother and sister type relationship and since kikoru is a teenager too it feels like kafka is kind of a fatherly figure to her or an uncle type shit and i love that

At first, they make kikoru look like she rich and super talented and skilled, which makes us think if only everybody else can be like her. But, until we get her backstory, we see that being rich plus coming from a perfectionist father influencing her to become a perfectionist really has a fear effect on her. I like the dynamic between her and Kafka because it shows being perfect does not mean anything when there are forces that are beyond your control. Kafka, who is not gifted or talented, background in Kaiju disposal(which most people wouldn’t do and probably viewed as a lowly job) was very vital when Kikoru was endangered. Im really excited to see more character development and what the Kaijus been up to. The Kaiju jumpscares been crazy ode

The Kaiju suit has little effect on him because he is already a kaiju I think or maybe it's just that his old body can't adept easily anymore xD.

Great point Adonis. The suits are calibrated to register human to Kaiju and not Kaiju to Kaiju. So, Kafka is not gonna register plus, does the kaiju want to be detected. Time will tell.

Aweome reaction 🫡 The anime is doing it justice, as a manga reader im elated 🤣😬... also to address the earlier point for him not transforming under the suit, yes most persons have to call in but some kaiju based in power can be detected also remember that he is wearing their suit which is linked to their machines and system so that is how they would detect him. What saved him this episode was that the system was going haywire and they couldnt confirm with the drown due to the battle and energy output. Hope that helps.

Seems like people from the clean-up crew are the ones being targeted for these humanoid kaiju. Maybe because they have the most exposure with the dead kaiju (except probably scientists and engineers who develop the suits and weapons) and that holds…some kind of significance? Obviously, Kafka retained his humanity somehow (maybe he might have a moment where he loses control later?).
