Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Cardiac Arrest Algorithm with Suspected or Confirmed COVID-19 is one of the most important algorithms because we can make a difference in patient outcomes. We should always consider the safety of our frontline health care providers.
Frontline health care providers are at significant risk for contracting respiratory illnesses due to frequent contact with symptomatic patients. Adequate PPE including N-95 masks or positive air pressure respirators, especially during aerosol-generating procedures (AGPs), can reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission.

Remember: BLS is the foundation of our PALS, if we don’t perform good BLS, the chances of us being successful in PALS diminishes significantly.
