There are tonnes of different models built with raspberry pies inside gameboy cases kicking around. All you need is the wifi transfer app on a pc or a spare thumb drive and you're good to go. I plan to build my own but I'm also an olympic grade procrastinator.

It depends what you want to pay for. This is pretty cool for collectors of either consoles or functioning miniatures (I hope the "Museum of Functioning Miniatures" guy sees this once he's back from hiatus!), and for sure developing a technology this small is no small feat. Most of the price probably goes to the creators rather than the cost of manufacturing or actual intellectual worth of it.
@TheRetroFuture

Agreed! The price reflects the quality for sure. I feel like if it was any bigger it wouldnt be as impressive but they could have used a bigger screen.

The screen size is not the issue. The resolution is. The OLED display they used is 96x64, so the image needs to be downsized by more than a factor 2 to even fit. The apps at 3:08 are for emulating different systems -- gnuboy is for GameBoy and GameBoy Color, nofrendo is for NES and Famicom, and smsplus is for Sega Master System / Mark III (and Game Gear as well, IIRC). Unfortunately, downscaling the NES's 256x224 output to this 100x72 resolution would be nearly unplayable. It'd look something like this: files.catbox.moe/an8ico.png

Idk, I've always loved the SP as a highschool student at the time. It was probably mainly the backlight, clamshell and rechargeable battery though. The DS I got day 1 (when it had no games) and just didn't play it as much......but I sold all of the GBA shit to buy it lol. The PSP I totally fell in love with (it launched with a ton of great games and they kept coming), but that SP had way more time put into it.
