When i was a kid we stopped at an "Indian souvenirs" roadside in New Mexico to look around on our was yo Carlsbad caverns. I Remember there was a tall cigar shop Indian there and I asked my mom why they had a black man statue in the Indian shop.. my mom said tmit must have been "repainted and they didn't get the color right". The people that work there chimed in from 10 feet away and said the statue belonged to his grandfather on the same property. Said it was out front his whole life and he brought it in to keep a better eye on it these days, "but no one has EVER re-painted him" . Make sense now.

Watching Cadillac records and I'm aware there was some fiction in that movie. I brought this up because there was a part in the movie in which Chuck Berry was supposed to perform at this establishment but the people had a picture up of him assuming he was white. When he got there they said he wasn't himself and show identification . So when he pulled his Id out it said Indian. The white man looked and was surprised but I brought this up to say if in the 50's people were identifying as an indian was a great thing. @@yasanyahel6464 Well sir, when I was referring to the shades, I was referring to the classes within the categorization of "Negroid" which is the first class of race to exist, as well as the strongest race (genetically speaking all of the 3 other races are recessive, ill mention them later) and all of the races are In order Negroid, Australoid, Mongoloid, and Caucasoid, often times these 4 classifications get confused for nationality, or ethnicity, but these are just classifications of where your lineage resided, "Africans" belong to the negroid race, Dravidians belong to the Australoid race, Most Asian ethnicities belong to the Mongoloid race, and "White or Europeans" belong to the caucasoid race. Now with this out of the way I can break the concept down, the thing that makes skin brown of ALL shades, from darkest to lightest, begins with Carbon, and then creates "Melanin" (which derives from the word "melas" in greek which means black or dark) most commonly known. What isn't very known is that there are 5 classifications of melanin 3 of which belonging to humans, and every living being has it, from plant to animal (Not all humans have the same kind however or all 3) these classifications of melanin are as follows, eumelanin, pheomelanin, neuromelanin, allomelanin and pyomelanin. Eumelanin, pheomelanin, neuromelanin all being prevalent in humans. Eumelanin (found in your brown skin human, and is the cause for such pigmentation, and also is the reason for what I stated earlier will lead the conversation back there again hold on please) pheomelanin ( is the cause of pinkness in skin often or nearly exclusive found in Caucasians, and responsible for their pigment as well as their sunburns) and lastly neuromelanin (found in the brain, and protects certain cells from stresses of the body within brain activity, also found in primates but extreme lesser amounts), all of these melanins are in the human construct. Now, Eumelanin, the main topic here, is known or identified as "Black or brown" Eumelanin has many breakdowns of these black and brown shades (when it comes to pigment) and these black and brown shades come in "16" per listing of black and brown (also yellow which is a direct creation from the color brown), this is where you get the ideas of "light skin" Dark skin" "brown skin". All of these shades are possible in human skin due to Eumelanin, and come NATURALLY, not every person with fair skin (That is still brown) comes from interracial parents, nor saying that every dark person is pure in genetics and not diluted from slave raping, or mixing in general, we come in all shades of the color brown black and yellow. Also as im sure the creator of this page can agree the "Brown skinned human" has no PROPER definition, they call us black, African, negro (which although is derogatory has the closest and most suitable definition as stated earlier from the term Negroid) BUT none of these terms are true we aren't definable, black comes from the land in which "they say" we came from which is in FACT wrong we were the first race and existed and traveled to ALL the lands across this earth, but anyway back on track, they call us black because of they oil that our great "Niger" river ran, (which is where the term "nigger" comes from, they Caucasians couldn't pronounce the word, so they used it to define us creating their own meaning etc etc as they always do so realistically the word is more so a testament to the ignorance of the racist caucasians more than an insult to our colored humans) this is also true with the Caucasians we do not call them "white because of their skin color no we refer to them as that because of the place they derive, the Caucasus Mountain a great WHITE mountain covered in snow. However, these classes are not proper because we are a race so diverse we defy all classifications, because we hold every race IN OUR DNA, without us there would be no other race. My great grandmother was Cherokee . she worked her land til she died didnt go to town but once every few months . Christmas was dinner no tree or presents but we got to look at her photos and play in the yard ...there was always something going on

We caught snakes and took them down the hill to the river , picked corn and beans squash and tomato canned it and put it up . she lived off the land except coffee and flour and corn meal . i remember the day we had kyro syrup not honey in a mason jar on the table ....she hadn't been doing so good that year and there was a discussion among old and young about doing more . needless to say that kyro was never finished it sat on the shelf for many more years . my uncle and aunt moved closer and us kids were brought up more often. My great grandmother only washed her very thick long hair 1 time a year when she bathed...yes 1 time a year. And by the time i came along there was a tub and shower.... She used a bowl of warmed on the stove water , she heated water in a pot every night and poured it into a bowl on her dresser and shut the door . when the door opened she was in her gown and her hair was let down and combed. She only poured out the used water and said good night and to bed. In the morning same kinda routine if u could wake up early enough to see ....the pot of water goes on the stove , then poured into the bowl the door shuts and when its opened she comes out with her hair pinned up in a ball and dress with clean apron on out goes the used water and then the smells of coffee and meat lol. She was 93 when she passed she stayed in bed a few days and left. 4 children and 17 grandchildren 36 great grandchildren 48 and counting great great grandchildren . who have great work eithics and very kind and helpful as if everyone and everything matters. We are spread out across the south east all colors and sizes now ... But the same spirit. And my family is not alone There are many many others like mine . not official tribe but none the less a tribe .

It was too, easy for me: I don't recall the young lady who spoke on genealogy in Tampa, Florida a few years ago, but her journey/research was profound. I pursued my grandmother (paternal), starting with her marriage certificate, to the Carolina's. My focus has returned to my grandfather (paternal). Interesting that the women's lineage is more important and perpetrated, to this day: My mother, aunts only speak of their mothers! I hope this helps a little.

Timestamp 11:09 is interesting. My 1st cousin text a picture of our paternal great great grandfather. My father told me in childhood of his native heritage before he died. Since he had lighter skin and a loose curl pattern, I thought he was talking about the Asian looking natives.
