i think as a fairly educated therian it’s important for me to say that the information at 2:43 is not only inaccurate but somewhat dangerous for folks to get the wrong idea. you cannot become a therian, it’s the same as any other lifelong trait, it cannot be developed suddenly or by choice. “past life therians” are not a real thing. you arent a therian just because your past life was an animal. they can co-occur, but past lives dont cause and are not necessary in therianthropy. the whole “imprinting” thing is just… totally unbased and wrong. i’m very frustrated with it and i can’t even begin to analyse everything wrong with the idea. i am not educated thoroughly on “soul walk-ins”, however this is the first time i’ve heard the term. please dont ignore sudden changes as described in that section, they could be huge indicators of mental issues. so all in all: you cannot “become” a therian. that’s deadass wrong. you are born a therian and you will be a therian your whole life.

Therians identify as animals, the animal they identify as is called their "theriotype", there is also otherkin which is the same except they identify and non-earthly creatures, mythical creatures, or fictional creatures, a good amount do quadrobics, which is running around on all fours, but not all do, anyone of any identity can do quadrobics, people who do them are called quadrobists, you can use any gear when you do quads but its recommended to not wear a mask atleast not a first because they make it hard to see, i myself am a therian, furry, and quadrobist!

There are multiple different types of shifts, I'll list them off: Mental shift: you gain the mentality of your theriotype for a brief time. You might experience more animal like behaviors and urges during this time, and mentally, your brain kinda feels less human and more animal. Phantom shifts: you can feel the limbs of your theriotype. They aren't actually there, but you feel like they are. For example, you might feel tails or ears, fur, claws, scales, and more. Sometimes your phantom parts may "clip" through objects since they aren't phisical, which can result in a weird sensation for some. Dream shifts: simply put, your either shift in your dreams, or are your theriotype in a dream. For example, you might have a dream where your a wolf, or be a human in your dream but experience a phantom shift Sensory shift: your sences feel more animal. You might rely less on sight and more on the smells and sounds around you. Although sensory shifts don't heighten/strengthen your senses, it may feel that way Astral shift: shifting in the astral relm. For anyone who lucid dreams or meditates to the astral relm (aka the spirit relm), taking the form of your theriotype during said meditations/lucid dreams is an astral shift. Similar to a dream shift, but your not actually dreaming. A There are more, so I recommend looking it up on the therian wiki (not Wikipedia, but the wiki fandom). Just look up therian shifts and it should pop up!
