Doordash and Grubhub aren't even taking new drivers in my area. Saturday I was online for 5 hrs for Ubereats and only got 2 deliveries. 😢

I think it’s because there are Too many drivers. This could be a good thing for you in the future if they don’t add drivers and you stick with it. More people will quit which will bring more orders for you. This is just my assumption and I could be wrong.

Let's just face the reality, we are in a recession, but the media, government and so called financial experts have moved the goalpost and refuse to call it what it is. Food service has been dead for at least 5-6 months. When their is a recession the first thing people do is cut spending eating out, shopping, and entertainment.

True with what was said and all but I was with Door Dash for 2 years and I was a Top Door Dasher for the 2 years and I got scammed and made a report and have not seen my money still til this day. I do not recommend Door Dash. I am with Uber Eats and going better no confrontation from customers like I got when I was with Door Dash. Majority of customers with Uber Eats seem to be more laid back. I was extremely busy with Door Dash and I am busy with Uber Eats too now.

Yea, I do uber, and it is defineltly slowing money wise. As the economy worsens, and more people get laid off from their w2 jobs, there will be more gig workers, which will oversaturate. I'm just concerned the gig companies will start deactivating accounts to cut down on oversaturation. This is my only source of income now. I dont wanna go back to a w2 job

Well, my 14 year old son has autism. He is med-high functioning but has his quirts. He got his first job working at an amusement park this summer. Because we don't know if he can handle a 4+ hour shift, the park was fantastic and willing to work him a 3 hour shift only a couple days a week first shift about 10-1pm. It would cost me money to drive back and forth for drop-off and pick up, so HR shocked me when they said they would hire me for the same exact day and shifts as my son. Same department so one manager can make our schedule, but not working with each other, so he has his space. Not bad pay too at $15 an hour. At least this will cover me until Sept. I'll do gig work on my days off. I'm feeling blessed about this opportunity and for them being so willing.

The gig economy has taken its toll, With DoorDash drivers out braving the cold, They deliver our food, one order at a time, Hoping for tips, a few nickels and dimes. But some customers don't seem to care, They don't tip, they don't share, The gratitude that drivers deserve, For the time and energy they preserve. And on top of that, DoorDash pays just two, A pittance, a sum that won't get them through, With high gas prices and wear and tear on their car, It's a struggle to make ends meet, and go far. The plight is real, the struggle is tough, For drivers who work hard, day and night, enough is enough, It's time to demand fair compensation and a living wage, So they can continue to drive, and not disengage. Let's not forget, when we order our food, The drivers who bring it, their livelihood, And let's tip generously, and often too, To show them the appreciation that is due. But let's also demand a fair base pay, To support the drivers who make DoorDash run each day, Two dollars is not enough, it's time to raise the bar, To ensure they can keep driving, near and far. So join us in standing with DoorDash drivers, one and all, As they navigate the roads, and answer the call, For they deserve our respect, our support, And a fair wage, so their work won't fall short.

Learn an hour + out multiapp stack route and experiment with orders nobody else wants that has a bigger payout ($10+) but it may keep stacking itself or another app. My favorite thing to do is stack a $1/mile food order with a grocery order that's pure profit and more grocery orders especially spark go places other drivers don't want to go with the food apps.

Ive been having issues trying to sign up for doordash. I just started with Uber eats. I live in a small area not a big city. The past two days have been so so slow I made nothing. I only stayed out for about an hour each day but the orders were terrible I was receiving plus I only received about 7 orders both days combined. I tried a couple different areas. I really want to give this a go. Any suggestions

Especially using your own gas your own car you should just go to a restaurant and tell me you’re delivered all their food orders for them. You’ll get $10 an order and you don’t have to do nothing but deliver food from one restaurant that’s how you become truly independent I’ve seen it done before and it works really good. The restaurants are getting away from these food app delivery services because they charging too much money, you know that the restaurant has to pay the customer has to pay and they pay the drivers like crap it’s a triple threat money losing for everyone I’m just saying

Just so many people doing it. All these fast food workers making $300 a week have found out they can make $300 in 2 days. So they are coming on. This is the services fault for allowing a bunch of people to come on like they have.

Get that free dash now with that shop incentive DO NOT refund make executive decisions were independent contractors most are obvious regular size for family and vice versa for example. Shopping and stacking shops is great for keeping busy especially now that Aldi is on dd so easy to stack dd and ic its amazing. Learn your local aldi(s) and have a good relationship with those people.

I honestly dont know what to do anymore. I do doordash and UberEats but Im barely doing $200 a week in +30hours. The amount of $2-$3 orders in my area is absurd. Its 107°f outside anywhere I go I need to have the AC running at all times which eats my gas away. Gas is almost $5.50 for regular too. At this point I find it better to just not work its abysmal right now and Im sure Im losing more money working than when Im not working. Because I spend $170 in gas to make $200 my net profit is $30 for 30 hours. I have to use my savings to cover my expenses each week I dig into $200 of my savings each week. In 3 weeks from now Ill be all out of money in my savings account. My biggest expense I can cut is gas cost from working. I dont get it I was doing $1k week in april to now $200 week in july. I work the same hours I tried different zones and nothing helps. I will say there is a lot of illegal street food vendors in my area which diverts lot of potential customers and the way the economy is right now nobody wants to pay +$20 for a single combo. Nobody in my area is hiring either, not at least a flexible schedule, which is why gig work has always been my only solution. Icould get warehouse work but most warehouses are hiring grunts I have scoliosis I cant lift heavy, I never get follow ups on my applications.

Uber eats is definitely worth it, I bought my first house with it, however, if your new you should get the low batches while veterans should get the most or higher batches, it seems like everyone trying to come on these apps is the problem.

That makes sense. The zone that I live in is not very busy usually but I Uber in the evening and I still pull on a pretty good average. You know there has been a slow down since mid to third week in June but I still have days where I make like phenomenal amounts but then those days too that’s when I’m leaving my zone. I just follow the orders they take me around. I like to stay more south you know within Toronto then to go north. But yeah I’ve had I’ve had one or two days where I pack it in after a couple hours. But I was a Ubering seven days a week and I was doing OK but it does catch up to you so this week alone I took Monday Tuesday off work Wednesday, but I made good money on Wednesday so made up actually for not working one day and then I took Thursday off and then I came back Friday Friday was not bad, but it wasn’t as good as a my Wednesday. So I figure if I can somehow make a schedule where I work four days a week and I can still pull in $1000 that would be nice but 800 is definite the way that I do everything. But when it picks up piss all yeah, you can really end up making a lot of money if you know how to strategize. I just started in April so learning and what to accept I might not to. But I Uber 99% of Sebring and I may do a little bit of DoorDash. I’ve been trying to break into DoorDash but it’s very difficult. They always schedule a time I like to go when I like to go I don’t really have a schedule but I do have a time frame usually I do it in the evenings to morning, and then sometimes I start, and Early afternoon and go till early morning work before 4 AM. I’m looking forward to a year of Uber in so that I know how each month is but I’ve heard from other drivers you know the slow time generally is January into June and July and I think it starts picking up in August again right? So if the case wow you can really make money in August September, October, November, December, February March which I missed so I started in April and April was not bad but when I first started or what a disaster… I was making four dollars an hour because I excepted everything they were sending me and that’s not even the main and saw my car. So glad to learn you have to learn on your own and take tips from others and I got really good tip from another Uber who didn’t order and when I delivered it, they start to give me the rundown and the dues and don’ts within like 510 minutes so it was really helpful because I was it was like my first week and that’s when I said yeah I mean cause I was wondering wow four dollars an hour no way that’s insane I’m not a slave!

Stuff's getting slow for me on Uber Eats. I'm hardly making my earnings goals for the week these days. I'd love to add on a secondary source of income, but I'm on SSI and I am severely restricted on how much I can earn each month. I feel like I'm trapped now. 😢 I will NOT go back to working full-time! If I didn't have a choice, I would kill myself! And I really hope it doesn't come to that!
