Always include expenses (Taxes, Gas, Car Note or rental, Car Insurance, maintenance and miles depreciation). What you make GROSS is not what you take home. I think many Gig App drivers get so caught up in the Gross they made per hour until they are deceived that they are making more than what they made. For every $100 Gross on these Gig Driving Apps the drivers takes home about $65-75 bucks AFTER expenses...gas alone can be $15-20 of that $100 for expenses. If you wondering why that $1000 you made Gross for the week don't feel like a $1000 it is because it is not. It is only $650-750.

People forget to subtract "costs of operation" with rideshare. Just on the fuel requirements, not everything else..I have to make like $130 in ride charges to even come close to $100 for the day. And that's not including car payment, extra insurance, mileage, my cell bill. When you take out the actual expenses, you're lucky to make $50/ day. These rideshare giants need to be challenged. They are sucking EVERYONE dry.

Jay, don’t accept rides to areas where you are unlikely to get another ride and don’t ride around waiting for a ride. Sit still and be patient. That being said, if you very close to a good area…hotel zone, down town etc…go there as long as it is close by.

Wow. There are a lot of "slow times" in this line of work. I mean, people say it's slow in the summer from June to September. They also say it's slow from January to March. Then, at least where I am, it's slow on the week between Christmas and New Years, and it's slow during Thanksgiving weekend. If it's slow more than half the time, how is this sustainable?

In Sacramento Uber very busy. But drivers refused to work for Uber at this time. Just because Uber breaks driver score like just because. At this moment mostly drivers choose work for Lyft. Because Lyft is more loyal to the driver's score. That's what my opinion.

Unfortunately, here in Tampa Bay FL....it's ALWAYS this way. The main reason I see is due to too many drivers. It has become so saturated with drivers on the weekends here, I see more Ubers than other vehicles. Besides that, these people are CROOKS. They lie to us on a regular basis. I hit diamond this past period with almost 3000 rides and 2200 points with 2% cancels and 89% accepts...I STILL haven't seen the diamond cash reward. Every ride I take has a longer pickup and longer ride than I'm being shown before pickups. Most rides I get through the "trip board" that then goes to someone else. Uber is a joke.

My week AFTER the 4th was way busier than the week BEFORE the 4th. I think there were more drivers out week before than the following week they had to rest. I was there to pick up the slack.

It is crazy here in Hawaii, The wait time used to be nearly zero, you either had a ride already before your drop off or you got pinged within a minute. But now it seems you wait sometimes nearly 15 minutes for a ride. I called Uber to find out if something were going wrong with the app due to it being really slow. What I was told was some drivers were having challenges with the app but when I got the e-mail they said it is slow. But I saw drivers doing drop off and pick up right in front of me. Same type of vehicle. So what is really up. Really frustrating are there really this many new drivers hitting the road. I was thinking it could be the end of month thing but now we are in day 2 and same o is happening. Uber is going down along with Lyft. Lyft has a wait time between 3 min to 15 min noted on the app. Looks like this gig is up. Too many drivers make it not worth it. Wait time is killing overall profits.

Another thing is why is Uber and Lyft allowing taxis do grab rides? If I recall if you had a PUC you couldn't use that vehicle for rides since it was a professional business vehicle. If you look in the lot a quarter at times are taxi drivers with their taxi light, Uber and Lyft stickers. Why this ever so or am I just mistaken?

I'm sitting in bonus AND Streak zones for hours. The minute they end, I get a ride. I have tons of screenshots where I sit for a whole hour in a bonus and / or streak zone and the exact :01 minute after it ends or the second I hit a bonus zone, it ends, then a low paying ride hits my queue. I've been averaging $4.00 per hour to $10.00 per hour for months and that is before expenses. I've had so many customers come up to me while I'm sitting in a busy parking lot asking me why Lyft isn't matching us for a ride. Lyft is trying to make them wait way longer for a ride while I am sitting there waiting for a ride. They are constantly asking me if they can just pay me cash to take them where they need to go but I have to say no because it will violate our terms of service, so we both wait there for half an hour while Lyft makes someone drive 20 minutes away to pick them up while I am right there and sit for 20 minutes with no ride. This ONLY happens to me during challenges where I have to complete a certain number of rides within a few days to get the bonus. They make me wait an hour between rides to use up my time.

From my experience and observation. When it's slow like this. Often times Lyft is updating the app. And I've always been right in my hunch. But yes. It was Uber slow. Pun intended.

I wouldn't advise anyone to do Uber or Lyft, or any other rideshare apps and ruin their driving record and car. Liabilities will increase over time, insurance companies will keep increasing their premiums on you every year. Maintenance costs will snowball to the point where it's not profitable. That's why most Uber drivers from years ago already left and were stuck with the cost. Or you end up like this guy, and forced to rent a car from Hertz paying $200+ a week because he has no other job prospects because you wasted your life slaving for Uber. Uber is a NET LOSS over 3 years. After that, you struggle every year. So don't do it, people. Uber is a liability trap, because even after you quit Uber, you're still stuck with the high cost of insurance.

Uber did say to offer: water, mints, gum, and snacks. Most everyone comments on that, and I think I've gotten tips from it, but I'm not sure. Water comes down to 50cents, mints-3 lb bags a mint is a fraction of a cent, snacks-just a few in a basket 🧺 is enough, gum-well this is the expensive one, and some people take the whole pack, but people love them the most. I get them at warehouse clubs when they are on special and have coupons.

So, we have to come even more out of pocket for these ungrateful riders who NEVER tip? I'm lucky if I get a single tip in an entire day after close to 20 rides. They can't tip because the rides are EXPENSIVE. And trust me, I'm a very kind excellent driver who is quite accommodating. You cannot coax a tip out of someone who cannot afford it. Most people who ride, can't afford the ride let alone a tip. I had 17 rides on Sunday and didn't get a single dollar for a tip. It happens all the time no matter how kind and accommodating I am . Almost 3k rides 4.98 rating 2% cancels. This gig is dead and unsustainable. I have a nice Kia Optima ex with full leather too.

Leave as little in the car as possible. I offered hand sanitizer on the back seat and someone stole the entire bottle. Uber did nothing about even though I have it on camera. Offer as little as possible
