Just watching out of curiosity. I will say I send my son to work 3 days a week in a Lyft and not tipping has NEVER occurred to me. I always tip a minimum of 3$ and up to $6 per ride. Not sure on mileage but the ride takes about 8 minutes, so maybe 3 to 4 miles? I tip more when my son is a dipshit and lags coming outside to meet his driver. He's been almost at the 5 minutes a few times so I text the driver and let them know if they will wait I will tip good. I consider $6 a "good" tip. How the hell do people not tip??? I considered driving Lyft, but on Door Dash and Postmates I make good tips. I've been tipped $20 multiple times for a 5 to 7 mile food delivery on food that was ready when I picked it up. Most often $3 to $6 per delivery. Of course on Postmates there are some who dont tip but its few and far between. On Door Dash I can decline the order if there's no tip, so I rarely take the no tip jobs, unless it's peak pay and the delivery doesnt take me out of out area. I don't know if I would drive for Lyft after finding this out. Its discouraging to me that people wouldnt understand the wear and tear these drivers put on their cars and pay accordingly. I personally always have a 25% off discount when I set up rides for my son. I cant imagine the driver gets the full amount so man, these drivers cant make more than a couple bucks on the ride. If my son didnt need the ride to work, I wouldn't even give Lyft my business anymore.

I applied, was approved, in 36 hours, and Quit all within 48 hours lol. Smh Uber for the win! For those reading this: Do both Uber eats and Uber X. I currently live in the Indianapolis area and started my first day driving for Lyft on November 21st, 2019...I drove again on the 23rd and again on the 24th. Within these 3 days I’ve accumulated $90.26 ..add $26 in tips, add an additional $10 for two cancellation fees...altogether I’ve accumulated a total of $126.26. Now here’s where it gets real....I drive a 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I’ve been to the gas station twice pumping in $25 each time...a total of $50 in gas. Subtract $50 from $126.26 and I’m only basking in $76.26. Fact of this story...I’ve given more than I’ve received. Not to mention the fact that on the night of the 23rd I drove 25 minutes in route to pick up a passenger and when I was just 3 minutes away from arriving they cancelled🙎🏾♂️ ..you think I got anything for it? ..nothing but a big 🚫 ..all I got was a 50 minute country backroad sight-seeing trip at my own expense. Now thankfully I have a primary source of income, I just wanted to try Lyft out to see what it was like and if it was worth doing to make extra money. I know I just started and it’s just been 3 days altogether, but I really do feel like I sowed more than I reaped in terms of expenses and my time.

This video accurately shows how LOW the pay really is. She calculated her pay to be about $20 per hour BEFORE expenses. Obviously fuel is a big expense. Additionally, her calculated pay includes tips. As we know, tips are not for predictable or guaranteed at all. Point is, without those tips, her pay after expenses would probably be barely above minimum wage. I give her credit for not hyping up what she made and giving an honest assessment of what she actually earned. Based on this video you have to ask yourself. I looked at that like they should just round that to a dollar 😂. TIME rate is .12 cents. I had 2 double stops and .12 cents a minute is trash. The milege rate at .64 cent is where you get the most. I think I might drive a few more days but for every $20 I make half goes to gas 🤷🏽♂️ That’s not good. You also have to calculate how long you’ll actually be out. You may only drive for say 4 hours but in between waiting for rides you’ll be out 6 or 7 hours.

However, Lyfts fees( $30 ) + your earnings ( $60 ) = $90. $ 90 is the total earnings for the day..

Hay Smokey, good luck on your T.N.C endeavors... Recommend - if buying a new vehicle for work, go small-a 4 door hybrid type, or go big 4 door hybrid SUV-make sure the dealer paperwork states commercial use on top, Allstate with ride share endorsement and 2nd level of extra medical coverages, and a separate room in the house for business/ computer use. All 100% business expense tax write off. And yes a detailed drive log book, hours worked book, and a detailed expense work book compared to us truckers.✌

I drove a total of 18 booked hours and grossed $289 ........ So with Gas $140, Rideshare Insurance $30, Synthetic Oil Change $80, Meals $20, Carwash Pass $30 ..... I'm sitting at minus (-$11). I'm literally paying Lyft to drive for them!!! I'm out ... Before that $400 mark so I won't have to figure out taxes on this disaster of an idea! I suppose if I lived elsewhere it may work but gas is way to high in California ($4 53) to make this financially viable. Way too many welfare rides too!

The real independent contractor !!! Before 2011 had good Personal relationships with the Customers no stars just tips like a relationship business Should be theres less complaining All the money went to the driver no middleman was required before Uber and Lyft controlled your own business no games no app to steal trips and tips until the app now someone is stealing from the drivers ! No cheap ride free rides taxi & BlackCar Service working on week days you an Average 500 a day about $2000 - $3000 a weekends alone it was nice working about 4 - 6 hours four days a week Before the governors of each state sold you out to two companies !!! Drivers get to keep their own money and have more money for repairs, and bills , money Keeping their cars maintenance safety up-to-date no living paycheck to paycheck !!! You have to know each driver is a small business with costs and expense ! Wow now Uber and Lyft App. They took two dollars & $2 .20 per mile Instant cut in pay from you to run your business To using the app !!! You could charge the customer wait time a dollar a minute after waiting five minutes! A puck fee of about $250 - $350 Then people respected your ride more and acted better than the cheap crerps on the Apps ! How Uber & Lyft pull the wool over today's drivers eyes like the wizard of Ozz... Transportation timetable Chart Ride share lowered Today’s Standard Fares from $3.00 per mile now you have $0.81 cents a mile to pay all your bills with over night hit in your wallet now they expect you to work for free! Wow low blow Before Lyft & Uber you know Each category used to be one dollar for you and each expense not $.27 cents three dollars and miles divided by three it equals one dollar per mile 4 you !!! Great video. I’ve finished my second week. Haven’t made nearly as much but I’m in a smaller city. My only complaint is the lyft driver app, which constantly loses sound on the navigation. Do you mainly drive in circles looking for rides or do you sit in one place and wait?

It’s important for People understand that she is NOT driving in a big city/area. Or if she is...she’s doing something wrong that I can’t figure it out. I just started myself and I’m making about 150 MINIMUM - $200 on a 6/7/8 hour day. (Try to work 6 days a week, T - S) Full Tank for me is about 35 dollars *at the most* (Important to note that I drive to the city and back which is $15 total (included in $35 . And when I get back I’m just about out of gas - so if I liveD 1hr 20min closer, I’d say $15 a day profit) so on a terrible day I’m making $115 profit In 6/7/8 hours. Which is about 16/hr (profit) But then I made $190 ($155 profit) on a Wednesday making it about 20/hr. (Profit) Saturday I worked 2pm-4am (14 hours) And made $355 ($320 profit) which is about $23/hr (profit) So far... The only cons In my opinion are the car miles...and eventually needed maintenance/new cheap but decent car. And taxes. Besides that...I haven’t understood the results of a few drivers such as her. Edit: I also receive decent tips for I have led lights inside, good smelling car, and just got a phone charging box/thing. Also provide water/gum.

They severely cut our share of the income just before they went public. It used to be an 80-20 split where the driver kept 80% as a standard. Now it is this amorphous variable rate where every ride is a different split. They ROYALLY fucked over the surge pricing as well. Now you get these premiere bonuses that nowhere near match the actual pricing. I never ask my customers what they pay, but sometimes they talk about it in conversation and there have been numerous times where it nowhere near matched the amount listed on the app. In the most extreme case, the customer was paying $39 and I got paid $9. I enjoy the convenience of Lyft, but I'll be damned if it isn't frustrating as hell that they keep stripping away benefits and pay under the guise of new "bonus" structures.

This comment is for men only to read: you WILL NEVER make as much as her, as you can see she gets a lots of tips just because people tend to be friendlier with female drivers, also guys hate to look cheap in a female's eyes, so they tip them but deep inside they hate spending that extra few dollars, thus, you as a man you'd rarely get any tips. In conclusion, Ive been driving my brand new car for Lyft for 3 months now, all I can say is that: if you have a job please KEEP IT, don't be fooled by this blue eyed female income, you will just kill your car faster for peanuts, trust me, when your control arms and tires and CV axle... wear out and go see a mechanic your jaws will drop to the floor when they quote you a price, also, gas is so expensive when you finish your shift you'll spend %20 of the income that night at the pump. I'm not going to even talk about drunk passengers vomiting in your back of the car or rude passengers or the risk you're taking having your back to someone you don't know! some people do use hard drugs and some do carry guns, and some do both at the same time!.
