He was someone I knew for many years as a friend, a coworker, & a mentor before I became romantically involved with him. He was always extremely charming, in a warm & ingenuous way. I thought I knew him really well, when it turns out I knew nothing about him at all. Not until I spent time with him in his private life. There are startling similarities between him & onision. That is why people can write pages about the characteristics of narcissistic abusers, because even though the individuals differ, the tactics remain the same. The thing that disgusts me most about my abusive ex bf & onision are their fleeting ability to re-write history as they see fit, to make themselves out to be the good guy or the victim at any given moment. They will always refuse to take responsibility for their own words/actions. They will instead blame you & tell you that you are the problem.

But because of his personality and actions, our brain causes us to look at him in a more disturbing light. This makes us perceive him as "ugly" or "deformed" because his actions make us scared of him or dislike him. Think about how if you meet someone scary. You perceive them as scary and they cannot change your opinion until you get to know them. For all, you know this "Scary" person could be a kind teddy bear. Thought I’d give a little insight into some of this - I’m actually the girl from the clip around 1:03:00 with the screenshot of the girl from the ‘Guess my ages video’ (in it I’m 15 nearly 16, he actually went on to insult me and say I looked in my late twenties and asked me what happened lol). I’m now 18, and coming from someone who wasn’t a mega fan but for the most part a casual viewer who got bored from time to time, I honestly find his behaviours absolutely disgusting but it’s the way he gets away with it with his viewers which is the worst. I remember I had no idea that anything he was doing was actually ‘wrong’, the way he normalises everything is terrifying. Even though looking back I see how vile and predatory he is, when you are a viewer who either looks up to him (or somehow enjoy his content) it’s really hard to see it. As someone who was an Onision fan when I was younger, I'm going to share my experience in the hope to shed light on why he had fans. TRO said was absolutely true, but I believe one reasons why fans stayed, at least for a while, is denial. I became a fan of Onision while I was living in a really shit situation with no one to really turn to, and I developed a parasocial relationship with Onision in that time with his nicer videos. Of course I knew about his bad takes and the controversies, and I still stayed. It's because I was in denial. I saw a guy who was similar to me and went through shit, and I thought he had the capacity to change. I also avoided the other side as well as I could and skipped videos that got too uncomfortable for me so I could maintain my denial. To be quite frank, my parasocial relationship caused me to view Onision as a father figure of sorts, where I was desperately lacking any in real life. The fact that he was in the military probably strengthened that, as my own real crap father was in the military as well. What changed, is that I eventually got support. I got friends. I had people to turn to. And so I was finally able to look an Onision and take off my rose colored glasses, and leave. Unsubscribe. Realize just who he was. And this was before any situation with Onision's irl partners came into public knowledge. So, I hope this experience of mine helps people realize why he had fans, and still somehow has fans. He does target vulnerable people to be his fans, and I would like to believe that a lot of his current fans were like me. Having no one else to turn to, so they keep on the rose colroed glasses and denial so they will have at least Onision to turn to.

It's a clear case of projection. Whilst sociopath is not a clinical term and has been replaced along with the term psychopath with the umbrella label of antisocial personality disorder, like many other mental health clinicians, I think there are benefits to having two distinct categories underneath ASPD, namely sociopath and psychopath. In regards to Onision, the term sociopath certainly seems too describe him. He was in a video referring to himself as "an empath" and going on about how supposedly 'sensitive' he was yet his behaviour showed callousness, emotional shallowness, and most of the symptoms one typically sees with antisocial personality disorder. He also is a predator who has deliberately sexually groomed and abused minors which is something sociopaths will do. What's puzzling is how he ever became popular but then again I'm not someone who grew up with social media so maybe it's a generational issue?

I didn't watch his social media platforms and so have only heard about his behaviours from various articles and videos over the last few years. Growing up before the internet was commonplace in homes and well before the advent of social media, I classed myself as too old to find the man interesting let alone as some type of role model which he apparently was at first to many of those who became followers and fans of Onision. My background is in forensic psychology and years ago I was working partly in criminal courts and with matters ranging from the assessments of individuals from juveniles to adults who were alleged to have involvement in various criminal activities in order to determine any personality, mood or other disorders and various other factors including competency hearings. Whilst some years later I elected to move on to primarily work with women and adolescent females who were survivors of various types of crimes most commonly experienced by women, I have very clear memories of some of the individuals I met through my years in the criminal courts and who required assessment. Amongst these individuals were persons who are informally referred to as sociopaths and who were certainly possessed of some superficial charm, sometimes having the 'gift of the gab' - although that often depended upon their level of education, whether formal and/or through their own private endeavours - and they were frequently perceived by others upon first encounters with them as being charming, sometimes as charismatic or having a "hypnotic quality" about them which was how I remember one victim of a particularly abusive sociopathic man described him upon their initial encounter. They're also often highly manipulative. Based on the way you have described Onision and how he put out a few decent quality videos then played various games with his followers to ensure they would continue watching them, I can imagine the way in which he manipulated his viewers and followers. The fact that he was well known for objectifying females and encouraging not just adult women but adolescent females to send in phots of themselves so he could then provide his opinions on their bodies and apparently give them 'ratings' of sorts is not only repulsive but alarming. It was apparently something many vulnerable female minors sought out because they regarded Onision as not only somehow attractive but they genuinely seemed to look up to and value his opinion. I fail to see his appeal either physically or psychologically but thankfully I am a woman who has passed the age of great insecurity about my physique and even as a teenager I was thankfully spared the pressures of social media and so-called 'influencers' and media 'personalities' who are now typically given guru-like status. Many of these young girls had been having psychological issues in regards to their bodies and considering the pressure already placed upon young girls by the media and advertisements both digital and in hard copy of the so-called 'ideal body' with airbrushed photos of seemingly perfect and unrealistic female physiques, many females already have concerns about their looks and weight. The very fact that vulnerable young women, minors in so many cases, sent in their photos and had their bodies and looks judged and picked apart by this man is repugnant and unethical. It apparently helped create innumerable eating disorders and other conditions in those minors who were understandably hurt and upset by the remarks made by Onision and who reacted to not being remarked upon in a similarly damaging manner with eating disorders and sometimes depression and drug or alcohol abuse sometimes culminating in substance use disorder. which is damage that Onision can never make amends or reparations for. Predating upon females via social media is often a starting point for many men with antisocial personality disorder who have various misogynistic views and who utilise social media platforms in order to act upon these feelings. Onision did so and also dished out psychological damage to those females and literally preyed upon this large proportion of his audience. Telling his audience via a video that his ex-girlfriend, Adrienne Jourgensen, was a "slut" and therefore cannot be "raped" was unfortunately typical of a misogynistic predator with sociopathy and so is doxxing - sociopaths just don't care about the consequences of their usually reckless disregard for the law or for other's rights. The allegations of grooming and of physical and psychological abuse levelled at Onision and Kai Avaroe, Onision's erstwhile husband, in 2019 are unfortunately also unsurprising considering Onision is very likely a man with APD. He apparently stated in his 2014 autobiography that his father was a "predator" and, whether this is correct or not, Onision evidently is. Sociopathic individuals tend to lie often and to do so for malicious purposes so his claims to 911 about Chris Hansen's actions in regards to the time they knocked on his door are typical of sociopathic behaviour. When I saw the now infamous video of Onision supposedly in a rage due to being banned from Patreon I wondered whether it was an act for effect and views or whether he actually had an outburst of rage. Such aggressive impulses are typical of sociopaths compared to psychopaths who tend tom be much more calm and collected by comparison with sociopaths come across as hot-tempered compared to the typically cold, almost chilly demeanour and feeling one usually experiences when in the presence of psychopathic individuals. The claims of harassment, manipulation, and abuse levelled at Onision and his former spouse certainly make a great deal of sense if Onision is considered to be a sociopath. It's unlikely Onision has ever actually had a forensic psychiatrist or psychologist undertake an assessment of his personality to determine if he indeed has any other conditions including mood disorders and possibly other personality disorders such as, for example, Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD, for short) which frequently is found to be comorbid with APD. Hopefully this man does not return to social media platforms. He needs professional help but when an individual has APD they're very unlikely to seek this out primarily because they do not think they have any serious issues and they're inclined to place the responsibility for their behaviours onto others.

I did want to establish some of the issues with Onision and whilst one can only speculate about his mental health and any conditions he may have, he definitely appears to be likely to have antisocial personality disorder or APD if one is to speculate. Often people will use classic cases of projection as if they're right out of a case example in a textbook. My mother has the traits of a covert narcissist and when she found me reading books about psychology and under the 'self-help' category as a young teenager she mocked me for my interest and referred to it as "narcissistic navel-gazing" which, in hindsight, I thought was quite ironic considering her actual behaviours indicating NPD or Narcissistic Personality Disorder, albeit of the covert or 'vulnerable' type. My response to that was to suggest that if she maybe read some of those types of books and indulged in a little bit of "narcissistic navel-gazing" herself she would have a much better relationship with my father and also with others generally rather than referring to her children, actually her sons really and not her two daughters, as her "friends". That saw sulking and the 'silent treatment' which is a classic tactic straight out of the covert narcissist's playbook, so to speak! Obviously, her attitude didn't stop me from going on to formally study and train in psychology. I don't discuss any of the cases of the past or present with her even in the most general of terms because to her anything to do with the field involving criminals and survivors of crimes is "morbid" and she'll change the topic if she hears anything about grisly crimes or serial killers. It is a pity that individuals with Cluster B disorders such as NPD and, of course, possible APD as in the case of Onision are usually the last individuals to seek appropriate therapeutic help and support and would rather blame others for the issues they're constantly seeming to run up against in their lives time and time again - which does make one wonder why they don't identify the one common denominator to every one of the situations, namely themselves! Regarding the incident about his child's accident: I'm in EMS. We're taught to look for certain signs to spot possible mistreatment, ticking boxes, so to speak. Here they are, in no particular order: -Lack of first aid administered by parents/not calling EMS immediately, but later after the incident -How the parents compose themselves. Are they worried at all? Do they do weird things (people act weird out of worry/adrenaline as well, I'm aware, but there's worry-weird and then there's weird-weird, like FILMING)? -plausibility of parent's story (does the mechanism of the accident add up with what they're saying? -do the child's injuries add up with what the adults present are saying happened? ...just some food for thought.

Ive had my son who was 6 months old at the time fall and hit his head on my floor before, i took not even a second to run out the door straight to the ER down the street, blowing in his face so he didn't fall asleep in case he was hurt hurt, with out any shoes or socks on- Hospitals are dirty and im sitting here no shoes or socks on looking frantic blowing in my 6 month olds face the whole time and holding him until we were seen. The doctors even asked me why i didnt care to put shoes or even socks on, i was in shock and didnt care about if i got sick or my feet got dirty, this isnt about me this is about my child, I will be fine. My son was fine nothing wrong with him just a little bonk on his head, hes 3 now . But the nurses said a lot of people dont care to report a head injury until the day after or a few hours later when its advised to seek medical after any type of head injury to a child whos plates havent fully merged together. Which made me sad cause i cant imagine how many children go to sleep and never wake up due to their parents thinking its no big deal

But once my youngest brother fell head first off of my mothers bed which was fairly high off of the floor during a time when we were home alone. He was fine and only had a bruise but it was terrifying so i cant imagine how it felt when it was your own child. Its actually uplifting to see your story. I hope you and your son are well and I know hell grow up happily with a parent like yourself!

fun facts about Greg's military career: Him going INTO the school was nothing special; yes it shows he was at least 'adequate' at his basic MO, but nothing more (Supposedly someone from his unit during basic spoke out and talked about how he couldn't even keep up for their runs.) General Discharge under Honorable conditions is... Sad. The highest you can get of 'You sucked at your job but you did it.' To quote both of my veteran brothers: "To NOT get an honorable discharge means you FUCKED UP somewhere. Not enough to be dishonorably discharged, like killing civilians or releasing state secrets, but enough that the military will NOT give you any aid afterwords." He shows a paper at one point, some kinda status report showing he was doing good/in good standing/in honorable standing. These are apparently weekly/monthly (Depending on when you were in the military) and were reports on how you were doing your job. They basically do the room check, then check your performance review- That's what this is, a military performance review. You only NOT get honorable if, during the time between the last one and now, you fucked up. TLDR: Per two veterans themselves, he showed he was 'adequate' at best, and since his discharge shows 'concientious objector' he probably got 'under honorable conditions' so he wouldn't bitch.

I got GUHC discharged. Mine was because I had a medical issue in boot (later revealed to be undiagnosed type 1 diabetes). They don't give, according to my RDC, any other form of discharge in boot unless you REALLLLLLY fuck up. In my case, I just don't qualify for any benefits, which I'm fine with. I wanted to be there (did years of ROTC going in, whole family was Navy) but apparently my body wanted to screw up my plans.

They are such smart and interactive animals, he wasn’t in any way attached to his at all, all the death was for him was something dramatic to share online for points and sympathy. It was funny when he mentioned his military career, how he was salty about it, etc. Yes, he finished Basic Training and ended up going to SERE school for his initial training, which he failed out of (I doubt it had to do with killing a rabbit), and the Air Force instead decided to send him to a relatively simple occupation school: Security Forces (basically, USAF MP school). He did not get an Honorable Discharge. He got General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions, which means he screwed up. Getting an Honorable Discharge means you literally did the bare minimum for your entire contract; you went to work, got yelled at a few times, did your job, etc. General Under Honorable Conditions means he did something to get kicked out. This could range from smoking pot to allegedly hitting your spouse, there really is no true metric for this, but getting an Honorable Discharge is literally a participation trophy for showing up to work for a few years and not breaking any laws...

A Russian tortoise actually has to have a 4ft by 4ft enclosure with open air and often artificial burrows to hibernate in the winter and when it is too hot another burrow that will be cooler. They often have to hibernate indoors because it may be too cold for them. They can’t stay in direct sunlight for a long time and I doubt a damn tub is a 4ft by 4ft enclosure. Having a closed of thing like that it gets hotter in there than if the tortoise was in a open air enclosure. You can build up cement walls but also have to build it down so the tortoise doesn’t dig out. You also need to water their enclosure especially on hot days. So yeah we don’t owe him shit. He was too lazy to make a proper enclosure for his tortoise. And if he can’t take care of a tortoise can’t imagine what his kids are going through
