ya se que eran politeistas y el navegante europeo era hernan cortes, ya que la profesía decía que quetzalcoatl volveria desde el mar como un hombre barbado, y así era como venia cortes en el año "ce acat" o "uno caña" (1512). y moctezuma pensando que el era quetzalcoatl practicamente le entrego el imperio azteca sin mayores batallas algunas.
