Lest you all forget this is from 2014 when videos were not so HD and easy. This was VERY helpful to me as a sub-let tenant in a house with Thermador appliances that the OWNERS had trouble figuring out !!

Agreed, very helpful and not covered by Thermador very well - even in their own literature. But I have a warning for everyone here who owns one of these refrigerators: WARNING: It is possible to install the filter 180* out of alignment and water WILL leak under the unit and ruin wood floors (Interestingly enough, you appear to have the same Brazilian Cherry engineered wood flooring as I do. After 1.5 days I noticed water squishing up through the grooves in front of the fridge. We had to hire a flooring company to come out, pull the fridge, and replace a box and half of planks (50+ sq ft) at a cost of $1700) FIX: Make sure padlock symbol on filter housing (the part you are twisting clockwise) orients right-side-up. You would think the (not cheap) filter on such an expensive refrigerator would seat in only one (correct) position. But apparently I installed it wrong - TWICE! First on the initial filter change. Then again after I noticed the water damage. (Thinking it was a faulty (knockoff) filter, I put the original filter back). On the day of the floor repair, the installer and I were down on our hands and knees staring straight at the filter. That's when I noticed there is a padlock symbol etched subtly into the filter housing adapter. Handle was fully turned, horizontal, but the padlock symbol was upside down. I pulled it out, rotated it half a turn and inserted again. This time padlock was right-side up. This should NOT be able to happen! What's the point of having intricate "engagement gears" built into the filter and housing that allow an improper installation? Especially one where you do not notice the catastrophic results until days later? I hope my experience helps others avoid what turned out to be a huge headache.

Huge thank you! I couldn't have done the filter change without you video. Thermidor's instructions were of no help locating where it was (under the freezer well hidden; as the instruction booklet makes it look like its behind a fancy steel panel at the bottom of the refrigerator-I would have broken that panel). And your resetting instructions were great as again Thermidor did not include in the manual. They should hire you! Thank you again!

After each filter change: 􀂈 Simultaneously hold down the SUPER COOL and ICE buttons for 3 seconds To deactivate the filter display: 􀂈 Simultaneously hold down the SETUP and ICE buttons for 3 seconds

Resetting the filter settings should have been included in the Thermador Use and Care Guide for the Refrig. It is not. Thanks for doing this video. Very helpful. Much better than the Thermador video.

Thanks. Also note that once the filter is seated it makes a filling/vacuum sound as water rushes into the filter.

Question, I did exactly what you did, it went in right but when jiggle the handle, it shakes. Is this normal or should it be stiff and not move at all.

How long before ice making resumed? Are there any other steps to getting the ice to start working again? I replaced the filter and depressed the two buttons like you did in the video but so far, ice making hasn't started again.

Ice making will start once the freezer cools.back down to Zero degrees Fahrenheit. Sometimes it can take a couple of hours to drop back to zero.

What happens if my filter is stuck and I have a very hard time getting it out? I really wish they would make this much easier.

I got advice to use a towel or cloth and a pair of pliers to turn it. VERY hard to turn and get out,Worked for me, good luck !!

Right, get a pair of pliers and wrap the end in a towel so you don't damage the handle of the water filter. Turn the filter as far as you can counter-clockwise by hand first, then use the pliers to turn it the rest of the way until you feel it give and can pull it out easily.
