That dot matrix style is super cool! Of course, I love that cartoony print of me, too.

I just got my very own thermal print camera and I'm in love with it. I wanted to see if any other people know about this "photography hack" cause it's such a good deal for what it does. Because it's meant for kids, the actual photo and video quality is potatoes compared to our phone cameras - but it's really all about that thermal printer. I was looking at the instant kodak and instaxs - the cameras themselves are pricey but so are the film cartridges. I like this option cause it's so cheap so I don't have to worry about a bad shot - it's literally pennies. I've started doing street photography with it and I love giving away the shots to people-everyone likes them and it's such a pleasure to share it with others. I hope in the future an upgraded "teen" version will be available with a better camera cause catching the light just right is tricky.

I love these cameras. Sometimes they have a set of filters and stickers so you can switch it so you are shooting in black and white. I've been experimenting with shooting pics, blowing them up on a photocopier, then using them on a gelli printing plate to manipulate and add color. So much fun.

That is so cute! I have that in my wish list. HP makes a color thermal printer (HP Sprocket Panorama) that prints in color. I wonder if the color thermal rolls would work in those little cameras? I think that would make a great review video!

Did anyone know not so toddler styled cameras? I guess all of them based on simple OVA module with 12mm lens mount, so you may replace the factory lens with cctv camera lens. I'm already did this trick with my action camera and got amazing results: macro photography is the best ever I seen, you may capture even dust on your lens, you have variable focus range, you even have brokeh.

Could probably mimic that effect on a laser printer. At work the labels are thermal paper. The ink is the paper. If you scuff it against something and generate heat, it leaves a mark.

I saw something like this at Walmart, a Viviter InstaPrint. $60canadian. and rolls of paper for $5. I want to experiement taking photos with a higher quality digital camera, then transfer those pics to the SD card from the thermal print camera and see how they turn out.
