Thermaltake Riing Quad Fans Review | Airflow, Noise Test & aRGB

This is what happens when you neglect to read the manual. You didn't set your DIP switched properly on the controllers. Thermatake Riing Quads are designed for Thermaltake chasis. Here's 17 fans linked and synced on 5 controllers (Too bad I can't post a picture). They opted for Molex over SATA because of the power demands of the Riing quads.

@@KosherTech If you understand how they work it's effortless. I agree there is not enough documentation that explains the nuances but if you follow Thermalmike on KZbin it's all explained. The new RGB Plus software is a vast improvement and they also have Neonmaker which is unsurpassed in LED customization.

@@michaelkelley6539 Yeah, I installed nine of these on a friend's PC with two controllers and didn't have an issue, and yes, the NeonMaker software is the best with giving you the MOST fine grained control out of any PC fan software.

For thermaltake fans I've found the only way to guarantee both of the controllers being recognized is to use separate power cables for each of the hubs. Which is annoying but they always show up.

If you want great cable management, check out the Lian Li Uni fans. They snap together in a daisy chain so you only have 2 cables (PWM & RGB) per group of fans, so for your 6 fans you would only have 4 cables total (2 groups of 3 fans). Hub supports up to 16 fans (4 groups of 4 fans).

As nice as the fans are the price is insane for fans that need molex to power them. I picked up a couple 6 packs of Ezdiy Fab Moonlight for that price, and they work great

I bought 2 x6 of these..is there no way they can synch with the last fan since there is only 5 ports...i hear dthere is a 9 port adapter sold on amazon.

Man oh man my favorite fans for rgb like actual rgb not just solid colors bevauss it's this super clean rgb look great for white builds for sure!

Just wanted to let you know I’ve found a fix for these controllers! While the pc is on unplug the molex power from the controller NOT THE POWERSUPPLY. Then plug it back in and boom it’s shows up, do this one controller at a time and your in business

I just bought that 9 port box but what a nightmare to organise all these 13 + power cables..lucky i dont use any SSD but only m.2 Also i dident ud ethe command tape strips that came with the box since it dosent stick that good. So i used double side sticky tape. Also i placed the box below the case since my case covers the whole psu area.

I agree with the fans are costly but to install the fans you are better off with a Corsair 5000 D series or any Corsair ATX case or any ATX case from any brand that have room for fans hubs, Overall for $260 dollars for a 6 pack I don't know price might push you away for on a budget builder but the white are insane.

I have these in a Corsair 5000x case and they work flawless. This guy wants a controller with 10+ connectors. He doesnt read instructions and doesnt know how to use basic rgb software.

Me again :D So today my quad fans system dosent work at all..the pans are spinning but i cant controle em since the control boxes wont detect in the software..i tryed everything..what a nightmare..have you had any problems with these ? regarding detection in the software ?

good video! i wish you went through and talked about the thermaltake software to control these fans because it's notorious for being a headache. im not sure how they've improved especially since they've rolled out with a new software.

Corsair's iCue software uses 10% of the CPU just to operate in the background....that's not exactly "killing it" as that's a ridiculous among to CPU demand just to control some LEDs

wow.. aesthetically they are my favorite fans, I would love to buy them but for 130 dollars I don't want to compromise and these unfortunately have a lot of them, I need them for a 3090 strix + Ryzen 5950x so the performance is very important since these components really heat a lot, if I decide to take them only for aesthetics could I have problems? with the software I can not sync 9 together? then I did not understand the difference between a molex cable and a sata, could you explain it to me? anyway thanks for the video, it helped me to notice many defects that I did not know before

I heard "peso" and "basura" im new to this channel and i freaked out that he is speaking tagalog language or something else.. either way i just bought single fan right now and disappointed coz of the "inverted" 9-pins to connect directly to the mobo is impossible. U need to buy a 3-pack to connect it through the controller to use it. For me its a hassle. Im using NZXT cam and works wonderfully.

Molex can handle more power than sata which makes sense since theres 54 LEDs per fan lol. These would make a sata cable catch on fire.
