Just finished a build with this case (white version) yesterday. 14 fans and yes, the (RGB + PWR + Hubs) cabling was challenging. Lots of ordering and reordering of cables and adapters and extenders from Amazon indeed. Also needed to get a PCI card for USB 3.0 connectors for front panel; there are two connections and my MSI WX only had one header. MSi WS WRX80 E-ATX motherboard, 14 Corsair QL fans (six for the 360mm push/pull vertical radiator assisting the H150i AIO cooler with ELiTE Digital CPU screen). Four 140 QLs -- two on top for exhaust and two more on undersides of the two horizontal "floor" plates to help push air up into the case. Four 120 QLs; two vertically-mounted behind the lower-front plate as intakes and two on the rear as exhaust. An eVGA RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra video card and an AMD Threadripper PRO 5995wx CPU (64 cores) round-out this crazy build. Love this case. It's a work of art

I did something similar, but only used 11 QL fans. Two 120s sucking at the front grill, two 140s pushing through the floor, three 120s pushing on the left side ( I reversed that panel so the glass is towards the back of the case), two 140s pushing out the top and then I swapped the fans on a Noctua Uh12a for two 120 QLs. Seems to work. I dont overclock. Took quite a bit to configure the wiring for the fans, it sure would be nice if they gave you an extra foot or two of cable to work with. Absolutely love this case, it made the build really stand out.

I can imagine this looking fantastic with a custom water cooling loop, loads of open space to route your tubes exactly where you want and loads of glass to show it off. I went for the Tower 200 which fits my needs much better, but this would be a great option for someone with those ambitious kinds of plans.

Sooooooooooooooo many possibilities for this bad boy. Magnificent case but you would need to fill all that space to make it a worthwhile purchase. I reckon this would look good with an 80s colour scheme......give it a chance to show off all those bright colours etc. Actually, maybe a Borg build in this would be more fitting, its about the same size and weight as a Borg cube lol.

Thermaltake should keep their cheap fans and add the extra fan brackets and I also like the hex holes over the long holes as hex is more open. I think the side panels should be full mesh on one side and 50% on the other.

So make it look like every other PC tower out there? The thing that makes the case unique is the panoramic glass on all sides that no other case has. You might as well get another case, cause this one ain’t for you.
@justatim8143
@justatim8143 10 ай бұрын
It is also just the right size to modify by laying down the motherboard and cutting off 1/3 of the top similar to the Thermaltake Core V21 but in ATX then all I would have to do is get 1 piece of glass for the front.@@ToxicHAL

Quality case with massive amount of flexibility for sure. Not sure i would want the gubbins or cabling on show but i guess its bottom intake with top exhaust so hence all glass to front. Too complicated for my skillset & 2bh way out of my price and league. Thank you for thorough review Mike & Kath👍

@@mikesunboxing Thanks for the suggestion, but I need larger rather than smaller. I'm building a dual-cpu workstation and looking to air-cool it rather than liquid-cool it because motherboards for such systems are designed for a certain minimum airflow over them. Water cooling may solve the CPU (and possibly GPU) heat issues, but not the motherboard itself. I've built several such such systems over the years. It took a lot of research and experimentation on my part to learn how to do it and make it work reliably. My current build is over ten years old and has been my workhorse for both work and gaming pleasure! And, yes they can be rather good for gaming if you're prepared for a not-very-plug-and-play experience that pays off in the end in being able to run both the game's server and the game on the same system with multiple users and no loss of performance. I watch and read a lot of case reviews in the hope of finding something that will do the job better and make the build easier. But then I see case manufacturers building what is essentially the same case, with the same mistakes and poor design decisions when it comes to optimizing airflow and therefore cooling efficiency. Basic issues include bifurcating the airflow by having fans at 90 degrees to each other which always reduces performance, and not thinking the airflow path right through the case by having partially blocked off fans or good ventilation at one end of the airflow path and poor to almost non-existent ventilation at the other end. On the other hand, I've always found It necessary to carefully blank-off specific ventilation ports in cases of various builds to optimize the airflow through the case so that the heat transfer from all components is the best it can be. The most common failure in case design is to make no effort to direct airflow at components requiring cooling. There should be some airflow aimed towards the motherboard itself for chipset, RAM and other board-level cooling such as removing heat directed straight into the motherboard and its components from the GPU. If so much is put into these cases then why are no fans aimed towards the motherboard itself or any basic flow guides to direct airflow? I've used the louvered part of a tumble-drier vent as a simple and cost effective way to direct airflow when fitted to an intake fan. If such a thing was made specifically for PC fans as a proper part this would improve cooling when used inside a case and reduce noise if used externally by directing sound towards something soft or padded, such as carpet if the system was on the floor. It would cost pence to make, would either clip or screw onto the fan, and significantly improve cooling as well as looking 'cool'.

I'm wondering about the rear where the DisplayPort etc cables go into your motherboard/cards. I'd rather not have a big gaping hole there(don't want insects or whatever flying/climbing in).
