I was just thinking that, too! It is a well drawn hand otherwise... better than I can do!

The thermal energy inherent to blood is insignificantly affected by turbulence within the flow itself. The molecules and atoms themselves moving is where the thermal energy is stored, NOT in the "random movements of the red blood cells". Almost all blood flow should be laminar anyway.

Thanks for making everything so easy to understand. If only my college instructors were this good :)

My mind. Is. Blown. This is so easy to understand it went in first time and I (annoyingly) excitedly called the mrs over and explained thermoregulation to her.

Sir, thanks for nice lecture. But instead of thinking there is less space for tumbling in narrowed vessel (vasoconstrictod), it would be better if we consider there is less blood flowing in constricted vessel hence low energy... ( More blood in dilated vessel hence more energy) What I mean to say is the heat is due to kinetic energy of blood cell and not due to friction (tumbling)

I'm going to agree with other commenters that it's not the turbulence of the cells that matters so much as just the volume of fluid that matters. Just as a lake has more heat energy than a bath tub because of it's sheer volume, the wider vessel has more heat energy (or internal energy to be more precise?). Blood is mostly water, water has a lot of heat capacity, and if you increase the volume of fluid, that's a lot of energy, and it's going to be able to dissipate or diffuse out to it's surroundings. That's my understanding, I'm no expert. Nice video, thank you.

What stratum layer are blood vessels dilated at? Would it still be near the papillary dermis ?

why the movements of blood cells make energies?

Dionisius Marcel due to friction according to this lecture but it appears to be due to kinetic energy of moving blood cells.

he said that energy is a form of heat but actually he means heat is a form of energy
