I saw this tour in 1989 at the LA Coliseum and they killed it. Had Guns and Roses open up for them in LA only. What a show it was. I remember hearing Mick bust out those first notes from his E harmonica. I knew what was coming, and I was not disappointed. My question is, how can someone listen to this and not realize the blues brilliance? It is a blues opera, as Keith has said.

Fortunate to see these guys in 1973 and 1994 here in Western Australia. I'm 72 now. If I couldn't afford to see a band I would borrow the ticket money for me and my late partner. Fortunately I could afford most! From Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee to Led Zeppelin to many Dylan shows here to JJ Cale, Cocker, BB King, Eagles, Clapton, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Leo Kottke, Ry Cooder, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Springsteen twice, Neil Young, Eric Burdon, Albert Lee, Houndog Taylor and the House Rockers, John Mayall, Crosby Stills and Nash, Kinks, and so it goes. Luck of being born a baby boomer. Cost a fortune. Not forgetting Dylan on his famous world tour in 1966 at the Perth Capitol Theatre with the Hawks, later to be "The Band." $5 a ticket to hear Dylan's new electric music. Sliding off the piano stool, stoned while playing 'Ballad of a Thin Man' ending with 'Like a Rolling Stone.' If you want to see something, be something, aim for something, then grab the opportunity. Life is short.

This is one of the most incredible performances I've ever seen. They are completely locked in. They are all doing different things, but it's all completely harmonious. This is what live is about. An experience you can't get anywhere else. Among other things I think the Stones grasped the importance and power of live before and more than anyone else and among many other things it's what made them who they were at this moment and who they still are.
