I love Adam's materials, but there is so much misinformation here. I practiced law for 20 years before joining this industry. I no longer practice law, and this is not legal advice. Get legal advice. Please speak to your own attorney before blindly following this advice. Before hiring a lawyer make sure they fully understand the difference between federal wage and hour laws, IRS code and regs and state laws for workers compensation. You then need to educate them about this industry and how you run your business without ever referencing anything you heard in this video. Only then have them watch this video and give you their response. There is so much more (and less) to this than the economic reality test changing in federal wage and hour laws. You don't only need to understand the FLSA (and whether it even impacts your business at all with your top performers). You need to understand all of the other laws that impact all employers and contractors and haven't changed. Again, not legal advice, just a plea to seek it before following this advice.
