One thing it’s helped us is Dr. Jordan Peterson’s advice to slay the dragons while they’re baby and not let them grow (in other words, address issues you find when they’re small enough and not let them build up so much they start creating bitterness, anger, and resentment).

What should you do if you did not slay the dragon because of laziness and fear and are now starting to feel bitterness, anger, and resentment? Is it too late?
@alexisidro2 жыл бұрын
@@eddy1537 In my personal experience, it's better to stop it from keeping on growing. Those conversations are never easy, and always unpleasant, but they help in the end. When I do this, the first thing I like to do is acknowledge my own flaws, and point at myself identifying things I could be doing better and where I fall short. Then what I've seen helps as well is not pointing fingers saying "you're terrible because you're doing this..." that never works, and it puts people on defense. It's really all about tact, and carefully-chosen words, and working to regulate emotions during the conversation with long pauses, and deep breathing lol. I won't say here that we handle these situations perfectly. Not at all. We're always learning, but listening to psychologists and other personal development figures definitely helps us deal with the situations better. Read the book How to Win Friends and Influence People and Extreme Ownership. I think we can all learn a lot from those two books in helping us deal with not just our spouses, but also people in general.

@JeffMcclain32 жыл бұрын
So accurate. I respect both of these guys, however this isn’t a great representation of how typical marriages play out. Taking away the stress of finances changes the hell out of this guys situations. A better take away on why this worked was bc he went in basically saying “I have money/women/status, if you want to be apart of that cool, if not you can walk I don’t need you”. That’s why his marriage has worked
@dijonpsalm69382 жыл бұрын
You can still take away the managing expectations part of this though. The process of the partnership using their problem-solving skills. Conversation and communication, the importance of being on the same page. If you think finances define a successful marriage then marriage isn't for you.
@JeffMcclain32 жыл бұрын
@@dijonpsalm6938 I totally agree. Managing expectations is key in any kind of partnership you ever enter. That has nothing to do with marriage that’s simply a business mentality which he is obviously elite at. My point is simply if you listen to the entire thing it’s him setting the tone and her complying with said tone. He’s calling all the shots(new ring/vacation/etc). This isn’t working bc of managing expectations, it’s working bc she’s submitting to his expectations. If she had any leverage then managing the expectations would be a lot more difficult, the average marriage is gonna have way more push/pull then this guys relationship 👍🏻

He already had something to show for, so his now wife was willing to wait. Patrick is from another time/generation... this type of advice won't apply to 90% of us men
@ruseangirl2 жыл бұрын
It’s not for a woman to ‘stick around’ and have patience. Women often suffer from taking a man on his word and his potential as opposed to what and who he really is. Another fault of women is often projecting what they hope for and see in a man and not taking him for face value. A lot of men leave their ‘starter wife’ or supportive gf once they achieve success. Many of whom claim they associate that woman with their struggles coming up and want a woman they can view as part of their new found success. It’s too much of a gamble for a woman to wait and have patience. Biological clock doesn’t wait. If she gets pregnant during the patience stage and he cannot help support the family financially or physically as he is ‘chasing his dream’, the woman is left with the burden of both of their decisions. Ride or die is dead. It’s unfair and not realistic to expect of a woman.

The only advice I want is to how to prepare for the divorce and win in family court. All this advice about how to date and stay married sounds nice albeit unrealistic is great but if you are a successful man and get married, and heaven forbid have some kids, the wife now has a gun to your head ready to use at the optimum time-divorce and family court. How to handle that is what needs to be shown whether it be hiding your money while married or in fact try to marry a woman who is richer or more successful than you are which goes against what most men want, which is not a career first woman.

Focus on yourself, they will literally fall into your lap if you have something to show for. Take it from someone that has dated way more than is healthy. Women will watch you from a distance. Your looks help, but it's your status and accomplishments that will pull them in by the dozen

@Jasmine Blush That's very true and I agree with you. The one thing I will say is that not all women are the same. You have women of all races that can be easy to deal with and some not so much. Same goes for men as well. The key is finding that person who is willing to have that discussion about expectations. Sometimes people throw all black women or white women or any color into a certain box and that isn't fair.

It’s not about race it’s about cultural differences and values.

Problem with this is he got LUCKY and met a really good hearted selfless woman….That’s like trying to find a needle in a field of 100 acres so this video is pointless unless you get lucky…..Most of us WONT! Good luck trying to present this concept to these birdbrain modern women 😭💯😎

Jesus Christ God in flesh came down on earth he went on cross, He died for your sins, he was buried and he rose from the dead on the third day. If you believe this good news (gospel) you will be saved. He will give you eternal life. You will be with living God for eternity.
