@@TheRoseGeek when you show gardens without music I feel as if I walk with you. I love your comments when you see something interesting.😍 I do the same walking with my friends😉 I have a small collection of roses ( 75 different ) in my garden in Poland ( zone 6b) and I am well impressed when I see yours😀 by the way I have Hidcote Blue Lavenders in my garden😉

A few days ago, I had just watched a wonderful documentary on Hidcote Manor and the gifted Major who designed the grounds with such artistry and imagination. Then you DELIVERED the Hidcote garden tour in its beautiful glory. Thank you for taking the time to share this wonderful garden with those of us who would love to see it in person. This is the next best thing to being there!

@@TheRoseGeek I do not recall the sheep in the documentary as it is more of a historic documentary. You may have seen it before as it is on KZbin. It is entitled the Quiet American Gardener. This garden is famous for a reason. It has everything. I love the contrast of the riotous cottage flower borders with the formal parterres, long allees, and topiary. I hope to visit it one day. Cousins live in West Sussex, so Sissinghurst will be on the schedule too.

I can see why Hidcote is considered THE premier garden in Britain. Those borders are superb! And the plant selection sublime to a rare plant connoisseur like me. I recognised Carpentaria californica the Tree Anenome just inside the entrance to your right at the beginning of your video & there was another elsewhere. Despite your single minded pursuit of roses you occasionally have managed to show other magnificent plants, mostly in passing, but I thank you for your efforts.

Absolutely wonderful. The lighting makes the blooms just glow with saturated color and the gardens are all such beautiful works of living art. The roses are really so at home in all the mixed borders. I actually really appreciate how they’ve spaced them out. They are so opulent and lush, your eye is given the chance to view all the different structures, contrasts of height, growth type and form before coming upon another beautiful rose. I miss pale hardy fuchsia I used to see in gardens back in Washington. Thank you so much for sharing 💚

I’m pretty certain that yellow wall shrub to the left of the stairs where you ascend through the red lacquer doors is Cytisis battandieri aka the Pineapple broom. I’m thrilled to see it in full flower.
