A garden been alive and thriving a 1000 Years. I am in tears just at the thought. Flora, Fauna I grew up in America and yearn to return to my "roots" there. People here are often just ignorant on this subject. It torments me. I cultivate a tiny garden adjacent to my home, laughable but treasured.

I have very fond memories of the house as I spent much of my childhood there. As my mum use to look after the house in the Sumners when lady Heald, had the house and Michael Kemp was the Gardener

I can tell how much care snd appreciation has gone into maintaining it at pristine condition!! The flowers, shrubs and trees are obviously magnificent, but the healthy green lawn... wow!! Thanks to the recommendation of HRH The Prince of Wales I've been watching on my computer and television a number of these NGS garden tours and I think this is one of the very best. Both video and garden are pure eye candy. Plus, among everything else, what voluptuous wisteria!

Bravo to the intensive and prolonged work gone into maintaining those plants, many a magnet to bees too, good source of inspiring ideas... As it goes, the Japanese are frontrunners when it comes to intensive care of formal gardens, so I think such styles lend themselves well to large-scale gardens elsewhere...
