Kumiho: Can’t transform perfectly, evil most of the time, likes to kill. Some kumihos are nice, but most of the time they aren’t. Some myths say they are actually non-hostile and cute and polite! Kitsune: Can transform perfectly (but it takes lots of stamina to transform more than 5 forms each time), doesn’t usually kill, likes fried tofu, prey is usually not human. It depends, some can be evil, but most of the time they aren’t. And they usually adore humans but the fact that they’re mythical make them unable to love humans. Sad story. Here’s the differences.

Oooh! This reminds me of several fun facts: More traditional kumiho legends depict kumihos as playful, but naive and benevolent creatures often taken advantage of by men. I guess people from the modern times decided to spice them up a little bit. Also they have this marble thing in their mouth that grants people knowledge, which is one prominent feature that sets them apart from their Chinese and Japanese counterparts. Also also, unlike kitsune (as far as I'm aware), a kumiho can turn into a full human if they don't eat human flesh for 100/1000 days (or if they marry a man and hide their true identity for 100/1000 days).

Ok to clarify for those saying this is a Kitsune, it’s not. The SCP even says so: This SCP is based off of the Korean spirit Kumiho. This is not a Kitsune!!!!! In Japanese and Chinese folklore, these 9 tailed fox spirits (Kitsune and Huli Jing respectively) are described to be mischievous and playful. It is true that some of these spirits are malevolent but, it is generally agreed they are more chaotic neutral and they just like messing around. Sometimes these spirits are also benevolent and give good advice and act as guardians. Kumihos on the other hand are characterized to be malevolent. They enjoy shifting into women to seduce men to eat their hearts and livers. Unlike the other two fox creatures, Kumihos are generally never characterized to be guardians or act as one. Also these Korean aspects indicate that she is a Kumiho rather than a Kitsune or a Huli Jinh. I mean for god sakes she was found in Korea, transforms into a Korean woman, and eats livers (which is in the Kumiho myth) specifically as seen in her containment procedure. **Please note that many eastern Asian folklore creatures are derived from China and each ones will have their own continuities

Well, they are not specialized for that. MTF Epsilon-11 ("Nine Tailed Fox") "handles internal security for the SCP Foundation" and "...deployed to Foundation Sites when standard protocols fail and multiple breaches are imminent." There is actually a Korean folklore story the matches the description of this SCP.
