When I learned Emile was autistic I was overjoyed (I had my suspicions but I'm no professional so they were just that), because I could relate to my favorite KZbinr, and seeing the chat full of support back then just felt so nice. I agree that as a teenager the internet was an escape and a way to enjoy the things I enjoy despite being hated for it in my school and town. Being a gamer/nerd/bookworm basically anything like that was actively talked down and shamed. But the internet in 2022 is nothing like it was when I was in high school. Today's internet is not welcoming or friendly. And there is always someone ready to attack you and tell you why the things you enjoy are horrible and you're horrible for liking them. Even within the very communities that supposedly like those topics.

Basically, you don’t find communities. You find tribes that either largely share well-known opinions and thus are stale or really small communities where you can usually dispense with worrying about much. Heck, the best places to communicate is KZbin comments, and that’s because they impose a group of people savvy to the opinions you will voice unless you mess up very bad and KZbin is inherently not real time nor does it encourage indiscriminate sharing, meaning it is far easier to have good conversations. KZbin somehow silos everyone in and that’s why KZbin comments generally are civil. The rest of the internet (and the world today) is like the comment that talks about the controversial thing.

I am finally watching this and I am glad I did. While Super Mario Land was my first Mario game ever, I had both Super Mario 64 for the N64, Super Mario Sunshine for the Nintendo GameCube, and Super Mario 64 DS for the Nintendo DS and enjoyed them immensely. Last year, I bought Super Mario 3D All Stars under the buzzer for my birthday and I am glad that I get to relive my childhood. While I have watched a lot of Chuggaa's Let's Plays (with his Let's Plays of Earthbound, Mother 3, Chrono Trigger, and Xenoblade Chronicles - both 1& 2 - inspiring me to want to play those games) and I hope that I can watch his Let's Plays of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 with as much enthusiasm as I've had with the others.

I’m so happy the long awaited ChuggaConrpy Versus collab finally happened!!! No longer just a meme! This was so fun and reminded me how much I miss Versus (though I totally understand and support why Josh doesn’t want to do anymore). But really any Josh + Tyler content is a good thing and the addition of Emile just makes it even better. Also love how Tyler did an old school intro for it - the nostalgia!

Chuggaaconroy is the first KZbinr I've been a big fan of since 2009 or 2010 when I went on KZbin for the first time and the first let's play I ever watched from his channel is Super Mario Sunshine for the Nintendo GameCube and that is really amazing to watch. Hooray, revisiting Isle Delfino with the original versus duo, with Team Chuggaaconroy along for the ride. I get the feeling there will be a lot more "EMILE!!!!!!" style moments after that nearly saying "how far they can stretch a dil-does" in this segment. Not as many as "Have you read Lucah's book yet?" moments, but we can't have everything in one Colosseum.

My personal take here. I find SWSH to be one of my favorite stories in the mainline series, up there with SM and BW. I personally wasn't bothered with the whole "Let the adults handle it while you continue the gym challenge" Cus you still get to fight the rampaging Pokemon in the Postgame. I can see why it bothers other people though

Given that none of the people's whose footage was streamed to MC and team were streaming themselves, there exists no proper recording of undesynched to "fix" or otherwise edit in. The only way such a thing could be fixed is if either of the streamed parties were recording the footage themselves... which would only cause further issues and worsen the stream barring extreme power in their respective streaming PCs. The delay having a consistent offset does not make this a solvable problem, given the setup

So in theory what's stopping them from just cropping out the individual screens and timing them up with the audio? I'm sure there'd be some small issues here and there, but I'm not really sure why they'd need individual recordings to make this work at least decently. Unless I'm missing something. I don't mean to act like I know everything, so if I'm still missing something here, please let me know.

Never played Gen 8, as I'm to poor to afford a Nintendo Switch, plus at the time it came out, there wasn't a variety of games I wanted to play at the start. So honestly, I don't know much about Sword/Shield, besides a few images of some Pokemon. (Haven't bothered to watch an LP all that much, since the only Pokemon Let's player I like is Chugga). Have yet to see the starters for Gen 9, or if I'm going to bother at this point. Also the whole school thing I can relate, I didn't have a lot of friends in my year cause most of them were assholes to put it bluntly. Plus I was the shy, quiet kid who kept to themselves a lot of the time (alongside going through anxiety/depression didn't help much either).

When it comes to Gen 9 starters, I don't really care about the pepper lizard, the duck is ok, and Weedcat is Best Cat. But I do hope that Weedcat's evolutions stay on all fours, since we already have Baracat and we don't need Tachicat yet. I mean, some day we'll be ready for Tachicat, but for now Weedcat needs to evolve into Parsley the Lion from The Herbs.

The funny thing is, there are far more objective things to complain about with Sword and Shield, like the pacing of the game, the way that Chairman Rose’s cause is stupidly framed with the number 1000, even further broken Pokémon, the fact that you pay $87-ish for the full package when the base game is so lackluster, the bad rendering of people and pop in, the Route hallways (especially the cave hallways), and the fact that there is effectively nothing good about Sword and Shield save competitive and that’s only if you ignore the Zacian in the room. The things people latched onto were surprisingly subjective. The base 400 Pokémon allowed for a unique meta that will never return. Some people may like the “tournament arc” as it were. And some people frankly could not care about visuals so long as they are not atrocious.

I liked Froakie a lot in X/Y, which was odd as my go to pick for starters were Fire Types (apart from Black/White, as I choose Oshawott). The other two Fennekin and Chespin, I hated their final evolutions, especially Fennekins. Put me off using Fire Types, till Sun and Moon came out, as I loved both Incineroar and Decidueye design.

Originally it was the Vods on Saturday and Sunday and the Episodes were Tuesday and Thursday, but since Banjo-Kazooie, it's the opposite way around where it's the Vods for Tues/Thurs, and Banjo-Kazooie on Sat/Sun. Unless they turn it around next week too, cause it confused me for a moment.

This last Sunday made sense since there’s always two episodes in a row for a new main LP, which always means that they break the Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday schedule for that, but for them to keep that up would be very odd indeed for a main LP, and with no announcements at that. In fact last week’s announcement made it sound like the Colosseum segments being uploaded on weekdays was a one-time thing.
