I played the reaction game along with them by hitting the space bar to pause the video then counting my reaction time in frames. My best was a 3 frame pause, although that was more likely a read. My range was extremely narrow. All of my attempts were within a 14-16 frame range, except for the 3 frame outlier (watching in 60 FPS).

I don't know precisely why (my best guess is because Pokemon invigorated the idea), but yeah, the early 2000s had a LOT of companies developing portable games meant to connect with each other for multiplayer game modes, or at least trading data with each other. Games like Mega Man Battle Network or Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow allowed players to trade their respective collectables across games to complete each other's collections (like trading Pokemon). Then you had cases like every Super Mario Advance game (and Superstar Saga, surprisingly) being able to connect with each other to play multiplayer Mario Bros. (as in, a remake of the arcade game). This stuff is so cool because now you didn't have to suffer split-screen when doing multiplayer since everyone had their own screen. But it also sucked because there was so much hardware involved in making these experiences happen. And if it was tough back then, trying to set those games up nowadays would be akin to a coven of wizards gathering materials for a ritual. (I want there to be a comic series about that, LOL.) Like I said in an earlier video (assuming I posted that comment, probably Episode 4), Nintendo really half-assed the Wii U Virtual Console when they released GBA and DS games on there. Developers of the time those games were originally released focused a noteworthy part of their games crafting multiplayer experiences through handhelds (leading to the wireless communications of later handhelds, and possibly even to modern mobile games), so seeing those features lazily BUTCHERED on the Virtual Console releases infuriated me. Amazing Mirror was the breaking point, as the game was designed FOR multiplayer like Four Swords was. So yeah, I'd love to see a remake of Kirby & the Amazing Mirror in the future, and like so many GBA games or Gamecube games which used GBAs as part of the design, the Switch would be an excellent time to do that. ...or even better, a new Kirby game designed like Amazing Mirror. I don't even advocate remakes often, but if they can fix issues with the original release or portray it in an interesting way (like how FE: Shadows of Valentia added a new theme about "nobility"), then go for it. Also, Emile, what happened to your corner?

20 videos. This one was pretty short by TRG standards. I never owned this game, but my cousin used t own a copy. I did pretty well on it and got him relatively far, but I never had the opportunity to beat the final boss due to other activities. Him living far away also gave very few opportunities to play it. Him giving it away later (along with his other GBA games) was a pretty sad day indeed. No hints for the next TRG LP. It could be anything; multiplayer, single-player, two-player, etc. We could see Metroid Fusion with one of them playing it blind, it could be a remake of an earlier Mario Party, they could even skip a title and go right for MP9, they could even go for something you would never expect them to play like a Japan-only title (any of the Pretty Cure games would be unexpected). Just gotta keep a sharp eye out.

All these comments in the past part talking about showing Emile the Eldritch horrors of Kirby when there’s a much easier solution to convince him to get into Kirby: play any of Galacta Knight’s themes, and when Emile asks where it’s from, tell him the truth. I like how they all at one point made the mistake of eating bombs. There’s a fourth “fun” mini game, but it requires 100% completion. 1:10 Didn’t know that it still showed the next round when no one’s able to participate. Would’ve thought it would just skip to the next round when they’re all active. 2:50 I’m beginning to think that Stephen and Jon actually are related outside of family tree jokes given their penchant for tempting fate. 3:13 Maybe not THAT conservatively, Past Emile. 4:08 If anything, isn’t Kirby the least racist Nintendo character? He doesn’t discriminate against who or what he eats or hurts. So what Emile lacked in core gameplay he apparently made up for in spades in mini games. 10:50 That would be amazing. if chugga's having trouble with a more classic style kirby game (if a bit harder than most of the classic style kirby games) and, if i remember correctly, liked return to dreamland, he probably should try more of the modern kirby games like triple deluxe and robobot and even star allies. they're a little easier and even if the last one has way more appeal to older fans than usual by bringing back old characters it's still a fair starting point i think.
