Puma Fast-R 2 Review: The big cat’s best carbon racer yet

The original Puma Fast-R was a wild shoe, and things only get stranger with the Puma Fast-R Nitro Elite, which has a decoupled midsole with a carbon plate that runs beyond the front of the shoe. It also introduces a new foam to Puma’s range, and is the first carbon racer from the brand to hit the 40mm stack height limit set by World Athletics. All the changes add up to an excellent super-shoe, especially for long distances, but how does it stack up against the best of the rest? Nick gives his verdict here.

Dopest looking racer ever🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Got myself 4 pair of puma in 2023 already, deviate nitro 1, deviate nitro 2, deviate nitro elite 2, Fast-r elite. Love what puma did in its new era, styling differently, great build quality, sweet ride experience 🤟🏻❤️ Can’t wait to try the fast-r ver 2 if I get a decent price off

Nick what size were the shoes you have tested please? I saw that they weighed in at 255g. I love my pair but they are really heavy. I have a pair in size 8 and weigh over 270g which is way more than the reported weight for that size.

J'ai la version 1, la 2 ne m interesse pas plus. Agréablement surprise du confort (j'ai les pieds larges). Très douces a porter et moins exigeantes que mes endorphin pro2. Une attaque plante plutot que devant pied (saucony). Amorti aussi plus doux. Le carbone est génial aussi pour se préserver des blessures (aucunes courbatures). Ma prochaine paire sera les endorphin pro 3 car mon chrono est meilleur sans fournir des efforts insurmontables. Par contre les Puma sont mieux adhérentes. Pas de soucis d'instabilité. J'ai découvert Puma et j en suis ravie. Je vais rester chez eux et new balance
