HAZ MAN Rajang could suplex a huge amount of monsters in this game with no problem, and would tie with some (Riftstalker, Rezakiri), lose to at least 3 (Valomyr, Thrax, Torgadoro) but saying Rathalos could take out 99% is a bit overkill. Rathalos isn’t actually that powerful, it’s just a natural apex predator, not something like an ED. A solid amount of these Behemoths could probably take on low-tier Elder Dragons. Just because MH is really good, you shouldn’t assume the monsters are objectively superior when these are shown to be quite strong in their own right.

I just got into the game recently and have been forcing my friends to play as well. It's interesting to see their weapon choices, like my friend, who I could've sworn would use use a sword or pike or something, and maybe get too attached to the behemoths, instead going all out in a bloodthirsty rage with an axe. That certainly surprised me, but she's good and my favorite friend to play with. Still dont know how she manages to be good with an axe but idk. I strongly prefer war pikes but I guess it's just a personal preference sort of thing.

so I recently got this game and I love it! while every behemoth has a predictable attack pattern after fighting it for ten minutes and every behemoth has the same principle of "hit it till it dies!", I love how satisfying it is when you finally slay one after what has felt like a century fighting one. the variety of weapons are nice, I love the pike, axe, chain blades, sword and strikers but I do not like the ostian repeaters or the hammer, not my play style personally. other than that, I love how much mysterious lore the game contains and the unique designs of each behemoth is very refreshing, which in turn leads me to adore the art style. I can't wait to see what phoenix labs continues to do with 'dauntless' and i'll be there every step of the way!

Repeaters? Admirable. Never understood them that well (switch user, low dps - i main chains), but they can be fun if they're used right. A lot has changed - Escas for everything except light (new map for the light esca behemoth), different modes and missions, new monsters, etc. It's pretty fun.

It's pretty much that. Give Monster Hunter comic graphics, make it free to play and you have Dauntless. The amount of content fits the f2p model too though but it's worth a few weeks of fun.

@@mercylavigne my experience with dauntless: The game didn't have an interesting story or lore for each individual monster or have an infinite amount of possible monsters (yian kut ku tigrex hybrid) also none of the victories felt earned and it doesn't even punish you when you die but gives you time for your teammates to help which just makes dauntless feel like a baby carriage so no dauntless is the shitty one kid
