As a kid, this episode baffled me but I wanted to like it. It was Ben 10 trying its hand at a Frankenstein plot, on one hand. On the other, it was them trying to make up for "Simple", making war plot that isnt black and white, err, red and blue. I dig that the solution was our heroes realizing they need to step back and see that this wasnt their fight.

I would've liked if you mentioned that someone on the staff clearly really likes old Universal horror movies. Having someone with a failing body transplanting his brain into the Frankenstein monster is a reference to Ghost of Frankenstein, the fourth Frankenstein movie. Kind of a deep cut. And the stuff like the European setting, a mistreated assistant with kyphosis, electricity imagery and of course the usage of Dr. Viktor himself are clearly like the writers' way to homage Universal Frankenstein movies. Which Viktor never really did beyond his design, so honestly, good for them for righting a missed opportunity.

I like the concept of this episode itself. I love the idea of a sovereign nation asks Ben for help. Not just a random alien planet, but an Earth one. Just like all the random plotlines, it didn't amount to anything nor done any exploration of the idea. I like the Prince and his (supposed) girlfriend. (I totally read them as being a couple when I first watched this episode). Going back to the Prince, I like his bitter attitude and nonchalant disregard of his father because it added a glimpse of history. I love the idea of Ben 10 villain being a monarch from Earth that Ben and his friends can't just punch to end his schemes, you'd have to clever and forward thinking. With all that preamble out of the way, the episode just did 'eh' approach. It's one of more memorable random episodes to me 'cause the Prince was memorable of a character for me. Also, Viktor being there didn't need to be there. They could have used a giant robot or zombie as it didn't change anything. He has the sexy lamp treatment if you will.

The main thing that bothered me about this episode is that Dr. Viktor being there is completely pointless. He could've been literally any other random monster and the plot wouldn't have changed one bit. He was an empty husk, that's all. If they were gonna bring Dr. Viktor back, which I'm all in favour of, I wanna see Dr. Viktor, which means his personality and personal interactions with the trio.

Ultimate alien gives more credence to Azmuth saying that the ultimatrix was poorly crafted. He probably meant the finer details like the several flaws in the locking and security functions. Which is integral for something as powerful as the omnitrix. Plus when you think about it. Evolving the aliens via high stress predator and combat situations really draws back their potential and can come off as a gimmicky function rather than an improvement.

It was hard to see the full hologram but one thing I noticed is the head was bit bigger than the whole body and Echo Echo is the only Alien that has big head. And now this is slowly proving that Azmuth is right that mistranformation is caised because of Ben using the device roughly.

I remember loving this episode. The Anur aliens had been my favorite arc from classic Ben 10, so seeing Doctor Viktor brought back, especially after the super random reference in the Ultimate Kevin arc, was really cool. And while I haven't actually seen it, but even back then I knew the king's plan was a reference to one of the lesser known original Frankesnstein sequels, where a bad guy puts his brain inside the monster, so that was neat to me. I would have been fine with that being the status quo for Viktor going forward. Seeing Heatblast again was great, and at the time the ending really impressed me, acknowledging that fists and force weren't always the right answer, and that politics are messy.

I feel like they could have actually used this episode to focus on the knights having different leaders and factions. Go into depth as to why they split up, see how each factions reacts to each other, but still have the same outcome where Ben realises that none of them are right, and the fights are just a personal problem that Ben can't really do anything about. Could have even used it to foreshadow the Dagon arc, and things like Sir George, so a lot of it doesn't came out of left field.

Wasn’t fussed on Dee Bradley Baker’s voice for Teen Heatblast. A bit too much like Jetray. He should have stuck with his voice in Forge of Creation. Plus, this could have been a good opportunity to bring back Frankenstrike, then called Benvicktor, into UA. Plus, although it was great to reintroduce Wildmutt for the underwhelming buildup to his ultimate form, Goop could have easily slipped out of the shackles, despite being unconscious.

Let me see if I understand this clearly: the King had managed to kidnap AND Knock Ben out. Yet decided to transform Ben into a battery to transfer his mind into Victor’s body which could be several decades old, rather than use Victor as a battery instead or build one if the soldiers are part cyborgs so that the King could have not only been placed in a body younger than his son, but would have also had a Transylian in the ultimatrix playlist AND could have gained access to the aliens that Ben has used on the news and more. But no. He chooses to go into the body that is an actual alien and one he can’t change back from to become human.

I thought i watched every ben 10 episode but yet i had no idea that this episode existed

I remember this episode more for Heatblast than anything else

It was such a waste for Dr Victor here because I would like to see him, his master and the other monsters reunite in this series

At least we got heatblast, my kid self is still salty alien force replaced the originals, I think that’s why I didn’t like alien force growing up but looking back at season 1 and 2 it has my favourite version of Ben, shame I don’t really like the uaf roster
