I'm not a trucker, but I'm CERTAINLY a night owl. So several times I've driven cars across the Nevada desert in the early morning hours - to visit my relatives in SLC, Utah. When driving late at night, it's relaxing because everything is so quiet, it feels like you have the whole world all to yourself on these late night drives. With an extravagant, heavily star-lit night stretching out in the sky above you.

@spjr993 жыл бұрын
@Ron T time is subjective though. if he is was born in 1991, was 21 while trucking, and is now 30, that may have been back in the day for him! time passes faster the more you age, it is proven by science. when you are 10, one year of your life is 1/10th of your life, when you are 80 it is a mere fraction of your existence. I think your comment indicates some sense that he is trying to portray an image that he hasn't earned, instead think of him as someone who had a different but equally successful experience in the field you love which you can learn from :) much love

So you have hurry up and offer your prayer before the sun fully sets or the prayer is invalid. And if you calculate the time the of the sunset part of the day, its usually pretty short like 30mins or something like that. And if you look at time the prayer clip was shot, in the background, the sun was almost all the way set hence that's why he probably had no choice but to pray in front of his truck in the fueling Isle and I respect him for his sincerity in his belief

7 months was my CDL Class A driving career. #1 most difficult career/job I have attempted. Drove with Werner out of Fontana, CA immediately after Road Runner CDL school. I was not a good driver, I will state that. Decent driving, good-enough driving will eventually get people physically hurt or killed. Thank God I only damaged a Werner truck, a bent rim, and an iron gate that a security guard & I picked up and installed back onto hinges..... All in one day. I'm thankful for living a dream job/on my bucket list of things to try if only for 7 months. Truck drivers---thank you for sacrificing your family and friends time for delivering USA wants, desires, and needs..

6 months driving with Pam Transport, They treat you like shit. Hours worked don't show on your paycheck, Cause you only get paid when the wheels are turning. Then 16 years driving local, then let go because of High blood pressure and sleep apnea issues, could no longer pass DOT Medical. Now driving a Small Non-CDL delivery truck for the last 10 years of my working career till I hit retirement age. This shit was a waste of time. if I could have done it all over again, I would have chosen another career.
@wednesdayrose21282 жыл бұрын
@@Scott6510 research schools and companies figure out where you want to go first. Some companies offer training through that specific company. So there's an option if you're just getting started. You should have clothes, toilet paper (yes, you read that right),food, bring plenty of water (comes in handy if you're stuck somewhere where you have no way to get water...or if you need to clean up a bit). Bring an electric skillet or a microwave unless the truck you get already has it. (Try to avoid eating the truck stop food as much as possible, better yet meal prep before going out on the road) your body will thank you later. Exercise everyday even if it's just going for a walk...(when I got out of the truck it took me months to be able to stand for more than a few minutes at a time. Because I didn't exercise, it's not fun just keep active. Try not to keep too much stuff in the truck, it is a pretty small space even for just one person. Always! ALWAYS! look at the signs make sure you know where you're going and what roads you need to take. You don't want to end up stuck under a 12ft bridge when you're 13'6".... Unless you want to drive a convertible...ehh...just pay attention to every single sign on the road. Most of your experience will come from actually being out there with your fellow truck drivers. Be cautious about where you are while you're out there though.... The world isn't as nice or polite anymore... Pro tip I got from my trainer... The moment you think you know everything there is to know about the truck... Hang up your keys. Being out there you need an open mind. You're going to see some beautiful places and some horrible places And a lot of accidents from cars to big rigs.....I've seen some messed up crap being out there.... Just make sure you don't drive if you don't feel comfortable doing so, and don't let the dispatchers push you past your physical limit. (They will try to you to do more loads than you should be able to do, but don't let them control you. Just remember that you're the captain of the ship, they're not the ones driving.... Anyway I'm not trying to scare you away from being a truck driver. It's honestly a great job, dangerous but great. Just make sure you drive safe and make it home safely every time and you'll be just fine. Hope this answered some of your questions. Good luck!!!

I drive local but fueling the trucks is now harder today, because the truck only has one fuel tanks, and you have to follow the fuel optimizer or you wont get fuel and you have to fuel up at the loves station that you hate.

Neat video. I've been considering becoming a truck driver for a couple of years now. Your video makes me think, "go for it!" I realize there is bs associated with trucking too. How common is it to get a HOS violation?

OMG, On this video you showed the Bolt "Dine -a- Bunk"/Drivers lounge, very cool. Actually trying to get my company to ponyup for them, and switch out TO the Cascadia or the Star. As they both have this as an available option. Thanks, probably forward this video to the powers that be, so they can see the bunk in real life action.

I was an owner operator from 95 to 05 remember when i would load fri night in Long Bch Calif and be in Miami Fl. 7:00 am Mon morning but back then we did things a little different it was nothing to run a 1000 miles or 16 to 20 hours in a day played that game with the D.O.T catch me if u can and no real electronic tracking back then but then again I rarely crossed a set of scales just had to make sure u were real good at doing your log books that was when trucking was fun LOL... u bought back some good memories

I think during the lockdown was maybe your best chance at getting 800 mi because everyone was in the house and accidents and just everyday occurrences weren't happening as much so yeah it's pretty much impossible with just normal everyday life to run 800 mi in a day it will pretty much have to be perfect conditions no bad weather or anything to slow you down, but great job getting at 780 though! Not saying it couldn't be done though just would have to be near perfect driving conditions very small stops hardly any and maybe a little more than over the speed limit
@Rollercoaster5553 жыл бұрын
How about 15 to 17 over limt in the seat 16 to 18 hours a day.back when speed limt was 55.equals 1017 miles a day.then speed limt up to 65 8 to 10 over limt hours same same 4280 miles a week 6 days a week.for 6 years.then the c d l started and the bull s. Began the beginning of the end took a lot of good drivers off the road.now what do you have today automatics and a lot of people that should not be even around trucks let alone drive them.how do you make any money driving 700 miles a day.

That gentleman was praying during Maghrib. That's the sunset prayer for Islam. I work with a guy that is Islamic and I like to be around him during his prayer time. I'm not a religious person by any means but the love that he projects during those few moments always make me feel blessed by the universe. I feel safe knowing that he's praying for his health and the health of those around him. It's the same for the Christian oriented religions of the folks I work with. They bless me, always say they pray for our safety, and I let 'em. I don't feel the same love they do but I'll take all the protection I can get! :D The type of dedication that the driver in the aisle next to you displays most likely extends to everything around him. He most likely keeps a clean and safe truck, obeys limits, and weighs his risk in a way that he keeps everybody around him safe. You take care out there. I enjoyed the video.
