You did a beautiful job creating a flowing Bob hair cut. A lot of students in beauty school I attended with struggled a lot doing the Bob haircut... But it's always been my absolute favorite haircut to do and there is so many ways you can be creative with this hair cut... The only thing I am dissapointed that I didn't see it the asymmetrical long on the right and short on the other... Actuallly I went to the salon to get This hair cut and they definitely didn't round the back enough and it's missing layers. Wish I had you in town lol

Will this work with natural wavy hair that's very thick ? As I've had highlights and hair is so dry , that I'd love layers . Always loved this style and I'm in my fifties 😉

Great video!! I have taken this picture with me on at least 3 haircuts. They never get it right. I have very thick hair and it intimidates a lot of stylists. I don't have a license, but I went to beauty school years ago. I do cut hair for my family. It is very frustrating not to get the cut you know you could do yourself, if I could just put my head on the table!! LOL. You are terrific! You inspire me.

What do you mean by over directing

Over directing is when you comb the hair to the same point/guide. Say you cut a section straight across on the top, you then bring the rest of the sides, back, front to that one point, it's over directing. Over directing means that the hair you comb from will remain the longest point after you over direct it to the guide which is kinda far from the section.

Oh yeah.... I completely agree with you and what's funny is I'm a cosmetologist and I sadly can't even cut my own hair! I have to rely on other hairstylists and it scares me everytime !!! Just never be scared to speak up and tell them if you want something changed or shorter... They won't get offended and you have to remember... Your the one walking around with the haircut... "Team Cocoa" Wow, then I guess I am right thinking the bitch at the beauty school was out of line for having a tantrum because I wanted a certain size rod in my hair for a perm and not wanting my hair cut before it was permed. Who cuts hair befor it is permed, it was only to my shoulders. Then she refused to discuss my hair cut with me just said I'm going to evenly distribute layers through your hair. I did not want a layered hair cut. She refused to get me any photos. I had to tell her to get her instructor. When I showed he a photo of me she got mad and insolently said "your hair isn't even curly there, it is wavy". (I think there was some foot stamping as she said that) Then she had a bigger tantrum when I asked her to turn the chair so I was facing the mirror while she was cutting my hair. Am I wrong to think that was a very, very bad attitude? Why should she care what size rods I want in my hair? I've had it done that way many times. Then she said I, was rude for telling her to stop when I saw 8 inch strands of hair coming off my head. The instructor told me, (I guess for her benefit) to err on the long side because you can't put it back on once it is cut off and this bitch just kept hacking away. In the end, it is way to short and it is helmet looking, I told her a dozen times I do not want layers on the top of my head, and she just kept hacking away. Then I got home and I see that there are several chunks that are not curly, she either did not put perm solution on those rods or the neutralizer. I was so depressed about the whole experience and so embarrassed about how terrible I look that I have refused to go out of the house for almost two weeks, but at some point I have to and I have to have this hair fixed. This was the worst experience I have ever had getting my hair done, does anyone have any feedback on this. What should I say to get them to re-perm the parts that have not curled?

Sally Giancanna wow that sounds like a horrible experience for you,please don't think all hair dressers are like that,she was just a rude incompetent trainee. I would never ever treat my client like that and of course she should have not cut any more than you wanted and its your choice your size of rods and I was taught to cut permed hair after the perm so OMG she was in the wrong and you have every right to be mad as hell lol. I hope you can find a good hair dresser and stick with the nice ones that actually listen and care :)

Alina Kravchenko yeah, sometimes i wish i could remove my head, cut my hair the way I want and then put my head back on! LOL. I'm wary of hair salons and such, they nearly mess up all the time. Sometimes you find a great stylist and then they leave and you can't find them!! :(

my daughter found my shears the day before she started kindergarten. she cut the front sections to almost bang length. now, the back is so long and the front is still super short. a little below the bottom of her ears. I'm trained but frankly decided to allow it to grow rather than a pixie. today I finally agreed to cut it, and this video has me hoping that I can somewhat blend her hair and have it still look feminine. thank you for sharing your knowledge! now, I better get to it. wish me luck!!
