I have the answer most are looking for… I have medium long wavy/thick hair: think Jake Gyllenhal but not as handsome. Are you unsure of how of to tame frizzy, poofy hair that flips up on the ends on the sides and especially the back? Here’s the solution: DO NOT wet your hair in the morning to fix your bed head. Apply some leave in conditioner (I use Paul Mitchell “The Detangler”). Use a wet brush style brush to make sure it goes through evenly. Then tousle the hair with your hands as needed until the bed head goes away and style as desired. Your hair will be soft, a lot less flippy and you won’t have oily or excess hair product feel from creams or pomades or the like. It works. Trust me. Just try it. It simplifies everything and gives you that natural look and feel while giving you the peace of mind knowing you just have some good ole leaving conditioner in your hair and it will rinse out well later in the evening and your hair will have been conditioned all day.

I think the type of wavy hair people like is either the rare balance where it only has slight waves or what people think is natural but is controlled with heat styling. I hate my wavy hair, it does the opposite of everything I want, It curls in the wrong direction, it ruins my bangs, it makes my hair clump together, It's inconsistent and the only time I feel good about it is when I straighten it, it's a lot wispier and looks great, but those waves come right back the next day or even the same day sometimes and I can't straighten it again cause it will damage it. Maybe I just haven't found the right routine or products, but so far it just seems like the natural texture sucks

Now does the type of waves you can achieve depend on generics. What happens if I want each strand to look like it's blown smooth but still retain that wave or curl on the ends. I have brown hair and the person I saw had blonde and light brown had super wavy hair that would flow in different directions. Is that a tell tail sign that that person had finer hair than Me or hair isn't as coarse. Cause I common issue I've noticed is my hair a lot of time looks like a helmet and just wants to conform to one shape. You mention getting layers. Will that make my hair choppy looking or will I still be able to have that smooth look like its blown out while keeping the waves
