In this video you will see: toenail cutting (with my favourite clippers Feryes), shaping, dry cuticle with electric file. The separation you see is a chronic onycholysis sadly. There is no fungus infection (checked). Simply from wearing improper shoes the toenails separated and I guess because they were not cut out right away, the nail bed probably became more like normal skin and the nail is not attaching anymore. The problem with cutting out the separated part is that it has to be cut out until it grows out (no polish either), which can take up to 2 years and people don't like to have "ugly" nails in the summer so it never has a chance to fully reattach. Sometimes clients will cut the separated part during the last summer pedicure in September etc but then they just let the nail grow. The separated part needs to be trimmed every 2-3 weeks and most people are not that consistent. I love watching you work and I’ve learned so much from you. I feel that I do my own nails far better than they’ve ever been done by a nail tech. Thank you!

I don’t even want to go to a nail salon anymore, and I haven’t. No one I have ever gone to is as smart and meticulous as you, and I can generally do a better and safer job myself. I have learned so much from your teaching ❤️

What an improvement!! I give myself much better pedicures since watching you. I get much more cuticle on my toe nails than finger nails.

So good to hear! Yes, usually toes have way more cuticle and often hard skin around the nails.

Hi Anna I love your work,always so satisfying Because I had an ingrowing big toe nail once I was told always to cut straight across the nail?I notice you take the file down the sides of the nail. This is not a criticism I’m just keen to know what is best for the nails Thank you.

Could you please do a video about chronic onycholysis? I have this happening on a couple of my smaller nails, and would like to know exactly how or if I can get it to re-attach. Thanks! :)

Hello :)) I have a video about onycholysis. It is important to know why the onycholysis happened and correct the cause first, then treat it if possible Nail Separation | Causes | Early Treatment of Onycholysis [Anna's Nail Advice] kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGqXpqKLipxmmNk

Just had another question regarding cuticle remover. I see that u apply it , remove it with water , then push back the cuticle . I also see some people apply remover then start pushing back while the remover is still on ? A lot of instructions say to this way . Just wondering which way you suggest . Thank u . Love this channel❤❤❤

Love your videos!! Question, After I do a jojoba 10 min nail soak. Do I wash my hands with soap? Or just dry with a towel? And is it safe to paint my nails with nail polish, right after the soak or should I wait?

for someone new, like me.. can you point out the time stamp on the video of where to view "separation"..also, at 20:34, any reason for switching to the ball tipped file, on the other foot you used the tapered one.
@TheSalonLife11 ай бұрын
The separation is visible the whole time on the big toenail. Ball bit is used for smoothing some of the hard skin around the nails sometimes. If I feel like I can reach it better certain area I use it. It's difficult to explain why :)

I have just developed onycholysis on my big toes I’ve notified for months now there were growing really fast and that wasn’t helping as they were getting damaged in my shoes, I have been cutting them constantly to keep them short but now the onycholysis has developed. I cannot cut the lifted nail as some areas are still attached and others are lifted. Will it be ok if I just cut the nail as it grows ? What is best to put onto my toenails now by that I mean treatment wise ?

Hi, do you have some tips and advice for ingrown toenail? Thank you
@TheSalonLife11 ай бұрын
Ingrown toenails is not a cosmetic issue but a medical issue and I refer clients to a podologist.

Great video , how can do I handle the comer side of the nail ? I saw you used a drill , but if someone doesn’t have that what do you recommended?
@TheMrsMelton11 ай бұрын
Also interested in the same question!
@TheSalonLife11 ай бұрын
The efile was used mainly to get a piece of hardened skin. Using Kerasal daily and rubbing it onto the toenails really helps to prevent these issues.

No. Vit E does not absorb well. It’s a good antioxidant so it’s a good addition to other oils but in its own it’s not recommended

Which bit are you using for removing cuticle? I have an e-file and would love to get that bit. Also what is that purple sanding bit? Thanks! (don't worry, I promise I'll be careful! :))
@TheSalonLife11 ай бұрын
All the bits are listed in the description box:). I really don’t recommend using e-file unless you are trained using it. It’s not easy to use e-file on yourself properly because you are working with weird angles.
@womanofacertainage589211 ай бұрын
Great point. Have you done a video with this much cuticle to remove, using only tools/files you'd recommend a non-professional use? I'd love to see how I could do this at home without an e-file, too. Thanks! :)@@TheSalonLife

Here is a video. Same person, different tools Working on toes, removing stubborn cuticle w/ Blue Cross Cuticle Remover and e-file | Watch Me Work kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z37ElYKIop5sl6c Don’t forget, if you care for the feet and do your own pedicures more often this will be easier to do. Clients usually don’t do much between pedicures. They leave the work for us lol.
