I love your channel Anna. I have learnt so much from you and my nails and cuticles are in great condition now thanks to you! I had never had shellac on my nails before until a year ago and when I went to have my shellac removed after 2 weeks she filed the surface so much that she damaged my nails and caused peeling. It took months to get them back into good condition again. After watching your video today, I can see that the nail tech was too impatient to leave the acetone on long enough to remove the shellac 😢 I’m glad you showed the Opi product as I might try it, I swear by Opi nail envy but they have recently changed the formula. So thank you so much for sharing today 😊

Anna, I find that I love the Duraforce top coat best, even though my nails are naturally healthy and very strong. I find the original top coat shows smudging easily whereas the Duraforce does not. It stays shiny all the time.

I will do the remover as U do, but I will use peel off gel base coat to make removal easier and I will not buff my nail surface as u said

Honestly I don’t recommend using any gel polish without specific brand training (hands on). Way too many allergic reactions which are sometimes very serious happening. I less and less recommend any nail enhancement product after seeing the side effects. Only reputable pro brands and very good hands on training plus reading 3 books by Doug Schoon. Other than that, nope! Too risky

Hey! Thanks for the very informative video! Would you say it‘s better to buff the nail before soaking it?

I've been following your advice since February Anna and my nails are now in fantastic condition. I'm a little wary of going back to doing gel polish. What brand would you recommend I use and is it safe for me? I don't want to ruin all my hard work!

So good to hear your nails improved! Honesty it’s 50/50. Proper, gentle technique, skill and a good brand. Nail tech often don’t do product specific training and they often mix and match brands without knowing the risks. Sadly majority don’t care about biology, anatomy and chemistry and only about latest designs. It’s also not the best paying job so it’s not treated seriously. This is why I teach how to keep your nails healthy and just use a regular polish.

Great video. You’re nails still look good after removing the cnd gelpolish. I would like to try gelpolish at a salon. But how can i see if it’s a good salon?

Thank you so so much for making this video! I hate well that is a strong word but dislike doing my own nails but… Anyway I am fixing to start the shellac on my nails again, they are very healthy. Doing the foil is a pain, I have put acetone in a small bowl and soaked them that way, is that ok? It’s easier for me! What is your thought on that?

You know, I wish my “awareness” to how precious the health of our natural nails was made years ago. As we age, things don’t grow as fast/vigorously and they definitely don’t recover as fast as during youth. How did your Vitamin C serum spray work out? It seems like a wonderful way to just spritz/rub on the backs of your hands each day and I’m curious as to your thoughts on it - especially since you think analytically. On another topic, I happened to watch a random video in my feed and I felt like I was watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre (exaggeration, of course), when someone was working on a lady’s nails. I’m pretty sure I witnessed SEVERE overfiling 😢. What do you think? Video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmnYnXxtiLeDiJIsi=rtNCxVkG_Ys_v_BI

Oh my gosh. I viewed that video and was totally shocked! As he was nipping around the cuticles I thought he was going to draw blood. And at the end, you could surely see how swollen the skin around the nails was from the before and after pictures. Can't believe it 😯

How much around would it cost to start up a salon?
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
That's a difficult question to answer so simply. It all depends on the services you wish to provide (gel/natural manicures/pedicures, etc.), the quality of materials and equipment you wish to use, location (purchase vs rent), etc.

hi anna! when i'm removing my gel polish on my nails the first base goes away (the colour), but the base coat takes me another soak to be completely remove 😩 what could be the reason? thank you!
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
Every brand is quite different. This is a common issue with Gelish for example. Usually caused by over curing or curing the base too long or using a primer under the base. It’s best to ask the specific brand for the tips on how to remove it better or let them know about the issues. The easy removal is one of the reasons I stick to CND Shellac.
