Im a guy and It's my sister's birthday in a month. I personally have always been into men's fragrances, so I never really got into the realm of female fragrances. Great idea! I would add a light floral that is easy, makes you feel pretty and put together for a range of situations. Work, running important errands, meeting the parents, church, even an afternoon date. For this I choose Issey Miyake I’Eau D’Issey EDT or maybe Chloe Eau De Parfum.

The most compliments I ever got about a scent was about Cotillion by Avon......after I stored it in the refrigerator! [This was during the 1970s when I was in college.] It smelled nice to begin with, but after I kept it in the fridge, the scent changed and became even better. Many compliments ensued! Nothing else has ever topped that.

I started building over the lockdown. My starter pack was: Coco Mad (Intense), Versace Yellow Diamond, Si Intense (2020) Chanel Fraiche and Prada Candy 🍭. Dior was my jam in 05. Gave it away during pregnancy, smell was too much. Yes it is amazing!! 😻

My strategy was to do research and buy the scents that sounded great to me. I then bought travel sizes or the travel size with an atomizer holder through Royalty Scents (USA) or another place like that. That gave me enough perfume to decide if I like it or not. You’re right about trying them many times. They seem to change and things I did not initially like I now love. I am now trying scents that do not sound so great to me, but people I know recommend. Trying to step out of my comfort zone. I will have to see how that goes.

Hypnotique poison was my most complimented fragrance by men and women of all time. Now when I smell it it smells beautiful but reminds me of a very specific time in my life and specific people and ex boyfriends - wish I could find a similar smell that didn’t immediately transport me back to being 22.

I agree with most of your picks, except for the ones I haven't smelled yet, like Manifesto. For freshies I would also suggest Givenchy Ange ou Etrange le Secret, and Gucci Bamboo. These are great for spring and summer.

You do describe them in an interesting way- in a forest eating a plumb - I always try to imagine how things are based on descriptions but I can’t describe perfumes at all. My FAVORITE right now is from TJ Maxx - Chai Eclair - smells like a smoky gourmand with a touch of chocolate. I am not self conscious if anyone smells it, which is the test. Whyyyy do I hate Alien so much? Headache and vomit inducing. What do you think of Poison Girl? I know nothing of how any of the flankers smell. I picked up Jade Dreams that I don’t even know what’s in it but it smells so good

I think you offered a lot of great choices. I would add a Shalimar and a Chanel No5 to cover the all time classics, but start with the more modern versions like Shalimar Souffle and Chanel No5 L'Eau.

You need a poison…choose your poison 😂🌹 Great list, lots of popular fragrances 😍 I suppose the most classic scent in my collection is YSL Paris EDP, which is a kitchen sink type of fragrance, almost 30 notes! I blind bought it and I had no idea what to expect. It took me a few tries until I started to appreciate this old school roses overload fragrance…I love rose scents ❤️ and I actually think it started my obsession with rosey fragrances and now I own a few different variations from different brands.

This is sooo true!!! I personally want to smell like my grandma and I´m in my 20’s !She introduced me to fragrances and her scent use to make me think of elegance and boldness. She used to love the original poison, la parisienne and a lot of floral and fruity patchouli notes that are used in a lot of modern perfumes. My mom is a grandma too and I stole my first signature scents from her and a lot of ladies in my grandma circles liked different kind of fragrances so it annoys me too when people use ‘grandma´ to describe fragrance.

I started my collection with Dior addict to life (but don't like it anymore), VIP rosé, Armani Code Satin, Black Opium (that I now can't stand), Armani Si, and Angel. Looking forward to test Pure Poison (or just Poison), JPG classique, Hermes Eau des Merveilles, Twilly, or la Vie est Belle (Eclat). I know I need to change from the sweet sexy warm perfumes and get fresh and clean ones, but I just can't stand strong musky, floral, soapy scents. What woud you recommend? 💜

Recently I blind bought Terracotta on a frag influencer's recommendation but I've to say I'm highly disappointed in that I can only pick up one note and that is jasmine. And I don't like jasmi ni scents.

If you struggle with fresher scents I would recommend an atelier cologne fragrance. They make really great citruses that don’t smell like cleaner like light blue sometimes does, I find that they also have such a juicy smell.

I remember someone mentioning Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline being their go to for the summer because they don’t like citrus, if that hasn’t been sold out where you live, I think Bvlgari discontinued the Omnia line.
