Yes, but your main focus should be your high school years, since that is more recent and they are the years scholarship committees will be interested in.

Our scholarship information is for students living in US going to US colleges.

How long is too long? Mine is 910 words (a little over 2.5 pages double-spaced).

Most scholarships will have a word count maximum. Usually 500 or 1,000 words. If it's 1,000 words, you're good! If it's 500, you'll need to reduce it.

You can but it isn't recommended. Readers want to learn more about the student. A quote usually isn't personal enough and it uses up precious word count.

Your stories might not be interesting to you, but it might be to someone else. The key is to make the essay about you. Why do you like what you like? What are you passionate about? Start there.
