The truth is that we became the victim of our own progress, while democracy is the least of all bad things in the world....how can anybody NOT be anxious! I can't get away from the news and the injustice in the world. I have a trans-son and this year alone 22 transwomen were murdered, or died upon violence act! Yet I have support and friends, about all the anxious people that are in good faith with themselves and others....we are all innocent. I keep praying...

@@mehdicharife5814 you have to build momentum. Start small and don't put so much pressure on yourself. Tell yourself today you will study for 10 minutes. And then do 10 minutes and stop. Slowly and gradually add more time each day but start out setting small and reasonable goals that don't create such overwhelming pressure. It is also important to give yourself credit for each and every achievement, no matter how small. If you can study for 10 minutes be proud of yourself. It will give you the inspiration and motivation to do more. Hope this helps.

Dear people who suffered emotional neglect in childhood and also everyone else, You in no way were responsible for the fallacies of your parents. When we are abused as children we tend to think we don't deserve love and kindness from people around us and end up sabotaging their efforts. Remember that you are unique, you are beautiful, you are lovable. Love yourself unconditionally, shower yourself with love for being you. See you will make mistakes but if you love yourself you will find the strength to say "It's okay, its human nature to be like this". The assurance from yourself will give you joy even when things go very wrong. You will be your own lover, friend and parent, glowing with inner warmth, helping people discover their own glow and helping them love themselves. This will give you the zeal to live, and even in darkest times, you will be grateful for your existence. Love yourself the way you want people to love you and never once will you feel that life is not worth living. Keep glowing, Love, Human, Earth, 2019 PS: Unrelated to the video but will help people who are lost, suffer from anxiety and have low confidence like I once did.

@Abhilasha Jha A theoretical counterargument: Have you considered there are people that shouldn't love themselves, simply because they're bad people (e.g. dictators)? If there's any such group of people, how can you be sure you're not in any similar group that shouldn't love themselves? This seed of doubt prevails and logically, since you cannot reach an objective conclusion yourself, you must not love yourself to avoid spreading negativity in case you were among the evil ones. Not loving yourself is the logical fallback option.

Not sure if just a joke, or a sarcastic poke at what doesn't make sense. No, then you would go on to determine why you might believe that - what underlying beliefs you might have that cause that feeling. Next, you would take logic to those in an attempt they might break, such beliefs are often illogical in nature. You may want to go back through the memory of your life and think about how and when those beliefs were formed. Come to a complete understanding of the situation and forgive those at fault, especially yourself. If done truly, this should help symptoms. Aside from that, begin to work on your behavior, ( eg if anxiety is making me do x when I should be doing y, endeavor to do y anyway ) in the largest steps manageable, without judgment as to what size that may actually be.

Most things you are anxious about do nothing but stop you from growing but only you know what those things are. Requiring Anxiety to not exist is unreasonable as that is impossible. However, if you focus on more important things (all of us know on a deep level what those more important things are as relates to our lives) life will improve and your anxiety will drastically lower, not disappear. But drastically lower is better than very high.

As far as I understand it, this video is more about how to find out, what your anxiety actually is about. It often shows in smaller stuff, but there is actually a wider issue behind it. Once we understand what that is we can concentrate on the actual problem and decide if we can do something about it. So the question in the video is a way of getting closer to the core of your problem.

Always have a "go-to" when dealing with anxiety, whatever it is. It could be a TV show, a video game, a food, a drink, a workout, a place to go, or even a particular smell. Always come back to it reminding yourself that you had this exact same experience at a time in your life when you were feeling *GREAT.* Whether you want it to or not, the anxiety will slowly give way to those happy memories...

@patrickkan999
@patrickkan999 5 жыл бұрын
@@TheEveana89 don't think of it as a distraction. Think of it as time you're giving yourself to love yourself. Don't put the anxious thoughts on a pedestal. Think of them as unneccessary. It does not serve you any purpose. It only brings pain and only puts you in a vicious cycle. Whenever you get to be happy, you get to stay in the now, in the present where all these anxious thoughts are non existent. They vanish because all that there is is just the now. Every time you do that, you are loving yourself by not sabotaging yourself with painful, unreasonable thoughts. You set yourself free. Like in the video, if you're not having these anxious thoughts or if you're not in this dark place, where could you be? out here where it is bright.
@patrickkan999
@patrickkan999 5 жыл бұрын
whenever I go back to these thoughts, I take comfort in knowing that it will pass. I know it will always pass because I have known how it truly feels to be happy because I have learned how to let go (with great difficulty) of these anxious thoughts whenever they come and and I have learned how to face my own issues and then enjoy the current moment for what it is. This has been my motivation to get back up whenever I stumble - to get back to this authentic feeling of happiness. So whenever Im in a dark place, I know that the dawn will always come. Sometimes it comes quicker if I do things that make me happy. It is vital that I show up for myself despite being very miserable. The key is that we really have to learn how to truly love ourselves.

When I notice my anxiety I first ask myself "Why am I feeling this way?" Then I go through a list of things that might be causing it. When I am able to recognize a particular fear I then ask myself "What is this fear based on? A real and true situation or is it based on my own faulty thinking or something I'm simply imagining?" Then usually I am able to either work through it or have a plan in place in case I panic or something goes awry.

something i like to do, (which has helped me drastically and i rarely feel anxious anymore) is just picture my thoughts as clouds passing by. i don’t believe everything my mind tells me. i also am really present in whatever i do. if i am folding laundry, i am completely focused on my clothes. if i am washing my hands, i’m present watching the water flow and the soap sud. if you are worrying about the future that is anxiety, if you are constantly guilty/ sad about the past, that is depression. the peace is in the present. try to be more mindful, take 5 minutes in your day, close your eyes, and just focus on breathing. discipline is freedom. don’t let your mind trick you. you are perfect the way you are and live is working out the way it’s supposed to. what is meant for you will always find you. now go live your life, we aren’t here forever so make it count ❤️

For me it works if I wonder "if tomorrow never comes, what I will do today?" this drives me to want to expose myself from little to more confrontations with my greatest fears and makes me learn about how to let them pass and learn about myself in order to find the root cause of them. When I cry out of nowhere then the healing is close. :)
@Millerwright123
@Millerwright123 5 жыл бұрын
I really admire your courage to go out to confront your fears. That's something that has been so hard for me mainly because I don't know where to start from. If you don't mind asking, what steps are you taking to expose yourself to scary situations?
@olarmariusalex
@olarmariusalex 5 жыл бұрын
@@Millerwright123 Now you ask me this, I realize that I do have a sort of steps, but I didn't realize it till now. First I make some notices about what makes me to have more resistance over several bad experiences from past. More resistance means that it will keep happening to me again and again because I didn't learn anything from it. And then I choose the experience that I felt the worst. There is a lot of fear hidden inside of a failed experience. In order to find out what is the fear related to that failure, I try to see myself in similar situations but with a different result, like it was a different me without my past but with a clean past, some stranger with a clean record of failures, and that tells me more about what legacy (past experiences) brings me there. We humans, have a lot of triggers, "some words" or "some context" which triggers in us the bad behavior which brings at the end of an experience the failure. Those triggers are based on our biggest fears.Those fears are build so many years in the past and is hard to release them but is easy if we realize that is hard, then we can focus on small steps and we can have little expectations on ourselves, then expose us to those fears and see the result and change our legacy (history of experiences) in order to let that fear to go to a lower level and then go to another fear. This tricky method maybe is the best motivation of all: "We can't, for sure, fix ourselves for good, but we can, for sure, improve ourselves", this give me hope to try on and on again and again as I see myself from now and compare it with myself from the recent past, If I see just a small evolution then the show go on, if not then it's also ok because I'm eventually a human not a robot so I'm free to make mistakes as much as I can, until I rich the success :) Another simple way can be, from my perspective, if you don't find any fear but you know that is there, you can work on how to manage those 3 words and their related feelings: 1.Thank you; -> with this words you can welcome in your life all that you already have and increase the level of your gratitude, this also increase the level of trust in other humans; 2.I'm sorry; -> with this words you can start to accept that we are humans and we make mistakes, this is how it is. If you learn from mistakes you will reduce the level of guilt. 3.I love you. -> with this words you can bring in your life more acceptance and you will decrease the level of judgement of other no matter of context; You will learn that the context is important. If you bring those feelings between the important people from your life and try to give good vibe without any condition then you will win 100% of the cases - but don't waste it on wrong people. If you can improve the use of those feelings in your life then you will also decrease the level of your fears or bad feelings. So use more those words and don't waste it on wrong people or on wrong context. You can use it correctly if you are honest with yourself, listen to yourself and act accordingly. I really need to bring also a clear example of one of my fears. The fear of rejection. This causes me to avoid going into the public squares and/or do public speaking. I realize this when people laugh on me almost every time I speak to a crowd more than 20 people. I figured out that this feeling was made in my childhood by my parents, maybe without bad intentions, when I perform something in front of them, a lot of time I was receiving a modest feedback or bad feedback so I stop performing in order to confirm their feedback. After I realize this I start to wonder if they are right or not. When I do this I was away from them (in college) and I put in question my past and figuring out how to expose myself to this fear and I involve myself in a course (let's make it clear - I do the course - I was the teacher) and practice day by day the communication capacity until I discover that was a lie, I was good on public speaking, not great but good enough to help other people to learn something new that I was good on it. My fear level goes so low that I can focus on the subject and on teaching methods rather than on how to behave in order to not laugh on me and not to fail :)

My anxiety is that I should be doing more and thinking / feeling less. People say just do it with a lack of valuation for my feelings and thoughts. Makes me feel rejected as a person and demotivates me to do things since I need time to sort my own feelings / thoughts out then. Healthy coping is accepting life is hard but having the faith that you are competent enough to get back up after being knocked down. 😊

My anxiety when i had it was almost entirely irrational. I was consumed with hypochondriac fear of illnesses I could never realistically suffer from or contract and the only way it went away was by realizing that it was just.. nothing. It was nothing at all I was just scared of being sick, for no good reason. Underlying causes of anxiety don’t always apply.

I watched this video the day it came out but I can't stop thinking about it so I came back. I couldn't relate to this. I scrolled down to the comments when I first watched it expecting other people to be confused as well but was surprised to see so many people relating to it. Even though I think The School of Life is eloquent and relatable. I was too surprised and confused to make a comment about it then. I have an anxiety disorder. When I feel anxiety, even about something simple like being late for something, the root of the anxiety is an obvious, intrinsic part of the feeling of anxiety. I'm never really anxious about being late. I'm anxious about feeling incompetent or unworthy because I couldn't manage being on time. For me, that's what anxiety IS. It's not a separate feeling from the deeper fears, it's made of them. I feel them all at once. Do other people not experience anxiety that way?

if you have your basic necessities with you and if possible, seek out thinggs that make you happy. you know you have certain things that worry you but trust me, it works. you simply cannot think your way out of an emotional state. Do things that give you some seretonin boost, then you'll see your inner chatter has calmed down. then you can think of how to deal with the problems. be solution oriented, and see what your priorities are and what you need to sacrifice to get back to stability. planning and journalling might help.

What I've noted to give me anxiety is when I disappoint or think I did something wrong. Instead of overanalyzing the possibility of doing so, I think about reaching out to the person I may have miscommunicated with or did something that was not favorable so I can decide how to resolve from there. For me, it's okay to be wrong or to be different. And once I allow myself to be wrong in a moment, it gives the opportunity to ask other questions to move from the situation that caused me anxiety.

Some roots to anxiety are admittedly incurable and unaddressable; we have to let some of our anxiety take its course. Even if we act upon the matter, it still stays as it is, only validating our anxieties all along. But yes, before stepping in to the damage, we have to ask ourselves if it’s worth it. This brings about the importance of resilience and right coping mechanisms while anxiety in itself takes its course. “The least we can do is insure that we’re suffering for the right reason.”

My anxiety is a set of physical symptoms. After years of trying to solve what I was anxious about or finding some deeper root cause, I've (along with my health care providers) come to the conclusion that my anxiety is just a thing my body does without outside stimuli. Sure outside stimuli can make me feel worse but there is no switch to turn it on, and no switch to turn it off. I recognize what it is, don't let it stop my daily life, and let the anxiety run out of gas. Questions like these don't help for my type of anxiety. Anyone else feel that way?

I suffered from anxiety for 10 years only to realize after a resilience skills class that the primary cause of my anxiety was the "catastrophizing" thinking trap--ruminating on the worst possible outcomes, which are often irrational. Real-time resilience: 1. Think of evidence to prove to ourselves the thought isn't true by saying, "this isn't true because..." 2. Reframe the situation by saying “a more helpful way to see this is…” 3. Make a contingency plan by saying “if x happens, I will…” 4. Practice mindfulness. Observe your surroundings and identify things around that you could see, hear, and feel. (the sky is blue, the green leaves are rustling in the wind, I feel the sun on my skin and it's warm, etc) 4. Practice self-compassion and optimism. It really helps. As a side note, fantastic art and animation in this one!

I am an extrovert with social anxiety. I enjoy public speaking, but my body horribly disagrees. I enjoy meeting strangers, but my body disagrees. I enjoy intimacy, but my body disagrees. I will rock, spend hours in a cage my mind has built for me. The panic attacks make me throw up. I don’t worry about anything in particular. I have high self esteem, workout, meditate. I don’t get embarrassed easily. My mind in certain situations just flicks a switch and boom: purgatory One of the more sinister parts is that my anxiety isn’t reliable. Take a situation like public speaking and I will perform fantastically one day, throw up the next. My career and relationships, intimate or not, have all been profoundly effected by my anxiety. Yet I continue on. While I remain hopeful that one day I can live without suffering, I firmly believe that even the life I have now is worth it all. The small moments of happiness and the occasional moment of awesome spontaneity are worth it. While the effects of anxiety are profoundly negative for my life, it is worth it to carry on.

Hmm, seem this video is just a rhetorical statement. Most folks who have anxiety usually know the cause. Finding a solution or method is what brings them out of that state. Just asking yourself a question about why is actually not that helpful ... again, most folks know they are unhappy, anxious, or scared.

I would also recommend writing it down (on paper or computer) as if you were typing notes for a therapy appointment. At this point this one technique has helped me soo much in getting my heart rate back to normal, what I normally do, I'll sit down, close my eyes and take a deep deep breath over and over, be present in the moment and stay in that darkness and silent. Basically, when I started to feel anxious, I'll try to take back all my thinking and feelings to be present. Move my fingers, my toes, feel every part of my body in this present moment. This has helped me slowly ease my anxiety.
